I have been asked ‘What is the significance of orange when giving a colour, ribbon or flower reading?’
I find, through years of experience, that colour is a very personal thing. Most readers like to have their own specific meanings for each colour. For instance, to one person the colour green might signify fresh fields, whereas to another it might mean peace or peacefulness.
To some blue is a healing colour but to others it is a calming colour but also can be viewed as cold or coldness. As you can see it is something that you cannot predict unless you have had the same reader previously.
When I am reading colour I always have the same personal meanings for each colour, and I never change that. Sometimes my meanings vary slightly, depending on what other colours they are chosen with. A bright green chosen with a bright yellow would be very different to a bright green chosen with a black.
As for orange, and the question which led to this post, I find it donates a person who is a healer of some sort. This can be a spiritual healer, although I would expect to find another colour with it in this case. It could also be a doctor, nurse, carer or therapist, or even a person caring for a loved one.
Healing and caring cover quite a few professions and jobs. It may be a carer who is caring out of love, or duty, not by choice of career. Get your sitter to think out of the box here. But I am sure you get the gist of the subject.
If you are just beginning to read colour, you have a choice. You can sit and look at the colours and decide how you feel about each one. This should help you decide your meanings. Once your psyche has taken on the meanings then your sitters will be inspired to choose the right colours for the message they need.
If you are having a colour reading from a psychic or medium then it is important for you to forget your own meanings for the time of your reading. If you were led by your own meanings the reading would not work out properly. It is no use thinking that although your reader said blue meant healing, but you know it means new love. It will not work.
Above all you need to remember that colour is personal and your meanings may well not match another’s. The important thing here is: the reader’s meanings are always correct, not the sitter’s.
