Mediumship and Beyond

Psychic reading  isn’t easy by any means.  You have to develop your psychic gifts,  and to be a medium is a life long dedication to the development of it.

I have been developing my gifts now for over 30 years.  When I write about psychic gifts it may sound simple, but in practice it is far from simple.

I try to give you an overview of different types of readings, flowers, ribbons, sand, among others.  If you have been developing your psychic ability then these are something you may try.  But if you have not done any development then you have a while to go before you can be an accomplished reader.

Remember though, we all have to start somewhere and the sooner you start your development the sooner you will be able to give readings and help people.

I have had people come to my development groups who have expected to be able to give readings almost straight away.  They then lose interest when they realise they have to put a bit of work and dedication into it.  These are the ones who are not intended to use such gifts. It is not for them and it certainly is not for everyone.

If you have the urge and the time to be dedicated, then you should go for it.  Someone is trying to impress you to go ahead and develop.  That someone is your spirit guide or guardian angel.  They will help you if you are determined to help yourself.

The second session of your development circle should see a little bit more action.  You will have learned about opening and closing down your psychic centres and will be chomping at the bit to get working and using your psychic gifts.

You will open up and begin to ‘give off” the things, messages, you pick up whilst tuned in.  The group leader will encourage you all to work by asking you what you have got, or what you are sensing.

The idea is to give what you get, as soon as possible after getting it, so that you may get more.  It is very difficult for the novice to learn how to hold on to messages sensed in this manner.  You will soon get the hang of it though with lots of practice.

You may find that you link into the other sitters quite easily.  You may not always know who the information is for.  This is where your teacher will help and guide you.

At the end of each session of tuning in, the medium will encourage you to give anything you have left, before closing down the session.  Don’t take messages home with you when spirit may have brought you something  to give to another sitter.

Each medium, teacher, will have their own specialities and they will use them in their classes.  For instance, in my classes I deal with colour a lot.  Other teachers may not, but will have their own thing.

I firmly believe that all of us have the ability to develop our sixth sense and use our psychic ability. It takes time and effort, but is very rewarding when you have mastered a technique that suits you.  The most important thing here is dedication.  You cannot develop your sixth sense over night.  It does take time but is worth the effort.

Most of us are just aware of the five physical senses and are surprised to find there are others.  Being psychic is a natural gift which seems to have become stifled in most of us as we have ‘evolved’.  Learning to awaken this sense is a natural thing to do.

There are so many unexplained things in this world and they are there for us all to explore.  Why not.  There is plenty of information out there today about the psychic subject, and it is relatively easy to find a group of like mined people.

There are Spiritualist churches all over the world now and there are lots of opportunities to learn how to become psychically aware, and indeed, to practise your new found gift when you are ready for the public domain. You do not have to go to church or take on a new religion. You can go to development groups and classes almost anywhere now. There are also books which aid the seekers of psychic awareness.

If you are not ready to try it for yourself, then you might like to attend a psychic event at a hall or church nearby. There are always plenty on offer, although some are quite pricey. You can also host your very own psychic evening. Email me for more information on this.

Medium and spirit guide understand each other and make an ideal partnership. They use a unique form of shorthand between them.  A lot of those new to the paranormal do not understand this and are unsure how it works.  Therefore, forgive me for repeating the words below.

What sitters and seekers must realise when having readings with mediums, is that communication between guide and medium is a very personal one.  What a particular colour and symbol may mean to one guide medium partnership, will be totally different to another partnership.

The reason being is that they have worked and developed together, and know just how each others mind works.  The guide knows exactly just how to put the meassage across to the medium.

If my guide needs me to know that someone is being childlike, they show me a daisy.  It may be different for another medium.  The important thing to remember here is what it means to the medium who is relaying the communication.  It has been set up this way to get across the correct spirit message for you.

Spirit know when you have a reading arranged, even before you do.  They know how the medium works and set up things accordingly.  Don’t make the mistake of placing your own meaning on things. Listen to the mediums explanation.

A rose may have a memory for you, but if the medium is alerted to the colour, then the mediums meaning for that particular colour is also a message.  If you place your own, or another mediums, meaning on this, it will change the intended message.

The meanings given by your reader are the correct ones for that particular sitting.

It is not difficult to develop your psychic abilities. It needs dedication above all else.  Development often begins before you are even aware of it.

Regular meditation and sitting in a small home circle is enough to begin with. You may even sit with others who have little or no obvious ability, until you need further help and tuition.  There will be a stage in your development where you will need to seek the help of a teacher.  Or at the very least, an experienced medium.

As I mentioned before, going to spiritualist churches helps you to gain the knowledge. Just going along and attending the services and paying attention to what is being said. You will learn a lot this way.  You will find out about all the psychic and spiritual gifts that are developed by mediums.

Gaining knowledge on its own is not enough though.  Meditation will help you get to know your spiritual guide, or guardian angel.  You will need to be able to communicate with the guide,  and learn to work together as a partnership.

Remember that development is a life time journey. It is not achieved over night and  you will always want more.  Try to remain humble. So many mediums soon develop over inflated egos.  This is not a nice quality to have when working with spirit.  Always remember that you cannot give spirit communication without the help of spirit.  You cannot do it alone.  There is no need for ego.

From time to time I run development classes.  Development classes are also held at some Churches.  My advice is to always check on the knowledge of the development circle leader.  You need someone who can help you when you are in trouble or having problems.

There are a lot of people who are interested in the paranormal and would like to know more about psychic, mediums, and Spiritualists.  They just don’t know how.

The best and easiest way to learn about the whole subject is to start going to Spiritualist Churches.It hardly costs anything, with most services being a freewill collection. There are occasional specials where a small fee is charged, to raise funds for the church. But overall the costs to you are insignificant.

The beauty of going to churches is that nobody will know you and therefore whatever meassage you are given can be taken at face value.

Look at the Internet for details of churches in your area or check on this blog and my websites to links that can help you. You will learn a lot.

If you have decided to consult a medium for a private reading, there are a few things you should remember.  Obviously the first important thing is to only go to a medium who has been recommended to you.

Once your appointment is made you should go along with an open mind and send your love out to the spirit world before you go and when you get there, during the reading.

You may have in your mind who it is you want contact with, but don’t just have the one person in mind. There are many reasons why a particular spirit may not be able to communicate, and you can read about them in my earlier posts.

Keeping an open mind and sending out your love helps the communication.  It is not all down to the medium. You have to give a bit too.  Don’t give information though. Sending out love and positive vibrations helps the flow of the communication.

During the sitting answer the medium when she/he  asks if you understand, or if you know what she means.  Don’t chatter, just keep it short and sweet and it will not get in the way of the communication.

Remember not to say yes if the answer is really no.  This may seem obvious, but some people think if they say no, they may get more.  It does not work like that.  Honesty is really important from you and from the medium.

Try to stay calm and relaxed, and then you will be able to think better when the medium asks if you recall certain events.  You may not realise at first who the medium is describing or talking about.  By remaining calm and relaxed things may suddenly click.

You will not be able to remember everything and jusut beacuse you cannot think right there and then, it does not mena it is wrong.  Sometimes things come back to you later when you are sat quietly at home.

There will sometimes persons you cannot recall, but later when you are telling a family member about it, they may be able to fill in the blanks.  On occasion it may be a long time before you realise what the message really meant.

Enjoy your reading and the upliftment it brings along with the personal memories it may rekindle.  And please thank spirit later for their input.

There is a definite partnership betwixt medium and spirit guide.  They have to get to know each other inside and out in order to work together and become as one.

It is important that the right language is used by the guide so that the medium understands what it means when they are communicating together.  It might seem obvious to you, but there has to be a more unique understanding here, as time is precious for the communicator.

The guide only has a short time to relay the message, so there has to be a sort of shorthand going on.  This is where partnership comes in.  The guide has to know how the medium ticks and the medium has to teach the guide how to work with them.

The answer to this question should be an unreserved no!   Personally, I never, ever, give anything to upset my client. It is not what having spirit communication is all about.

When you make an appointment with a medium to have a private reading, spirit will know.  They gather together those spirits who will help, uplift, and love you.  They do not waste their valuable time bringing a spirit who will make you more depressed.

The reading is all about proving life after death and bringing you joy and upliftment.

At no time should a medium tell you something bad or predict something bad.  That is not what mediums are about and any medium worth their salt knows this and behaves accordingly.

As for the proverbial question:does a medium predict death?  NO NO NO!  Nobody knows when we are going to die.  And if your reader even begins to suggest that they do, then you should get up and leave. It is definitely taboo! It is also impossible!

It is very wrong to make suggestions that will upset or depress a person. Also, such information may alter the way a person proceeds with their life.  We should not be responsible for that.

I am happy that my sitters go home uplifted and  knowing that there is life after death. They know their spirit loved ones are still watching over them and that they will all meet again in the spirit world.  This is how it should be.

This is really good advice. Don’t feed the psychic or medium.  But what does it really mean.  It may be obvious to some but what is feeding in the mediums world.

When you are having a reading, or receiving a mediums message, there are basic unwritten rules.  Firstly, the medium should not ask you questions.  They should stick to phrases like: do you understand or do you know. Can you place this or do you remember that.

The sitter though, has their own rules. The main one is, do not feed the medium or reader.  Feed means giving information to.  This means sticking to certain responses such as: Yes, No, or, I do not understand.

The sitter should never fill the medium in with  information, as this will get in the way of the communication.  The medium has to keep a clear channel for the spirits incoming communication, and another for the sitters responses.  If you feed the medium information too, it will get in the way and cloud the mediums mind.

Once the medium starts to think about what the sitter is saying, it just gets in the way and spoils the whole thing.  Save any filling in or information giving until your sitting is over. You, the medium and the spirits will all benefit.
