I wish you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful new year 2012.

As the new year approaches we all tend to think about making new resolutions.  This usually involves giving things up. Things that we enjoy. Why would we do that? Why do we feel the need to punish ourselves?

Why don’t we decide to start new ventures?  New ways to make ourselves and our loved ones happy.  Much better than giving up.

I have long wanted to start my own Psychic Centre.  I hope it will become a reality in 2012.  I just need to find the right venue to make it all happen.

Therefore, I am sending out prayers to the spirit world to ask for help and inspiration.  For guidance to lead me to the right place.  A place where I can carry out my spiritual work and my teachings. A place to give healing and council  the bereaved.  A place where I can prove life after death to more people.

Above all,  a place that is mine to run in the name of Spirit.  A place that needs no committee.  I do find that committees in general, though not all,  are full of people who know little about Spiritualism and even less about mediumistic gifts.  They do not seem to understand the very basics of the religion.  How can they inform others if they are ill informed themselves.

I would like a place full of love and understanding.  Not too much to ask of spirit is it!   Keep watching this space.

“If there is something you truly want to know,
then you truly want to listen to your own wisdom.
You know, meditation is learning how to listen with your own wisdom,
so that you can see.
I think why meditation is amazingly important,
is that somehow our unconscious world is much bigger.
It is huge, universal, and we don’t understand that one.
Meditation allows this world to be light and knowable, understandable.
That is why it is important.
Normally we are totally robbed by the egotistic, conventional mind,
not allowing the fundamental mind to be functioning.
That is why one should have confidence,
truly… through experience,
one has confidence in one’s spiritual journey.”

Where Spiritualism and Buddhism Come Together

There is a very good reason to ‘be prepared for death’, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama explains:

“From a Buddhist point of view, the actual experience of death is very important. Although how or where we will be reborn is generally dependent on karmic forces, our state of mind at the time of death can influence the quality of our next rebirth. So at the moment of death, in spite of the great variety of karmas we have accumulated, if we make a special effort to generate a virtuous state of mind, we may strengthen and activate a virtuous karma, and so bring about a happy rebirth.”

A true friend doesn’t care what others say about you.

A true friend accepts who you are without judging you.

“Deepak Chopra”

Maybe this is why true friends can be counted on one hand.

Develop the mind of equilibrium.

You will always be getting praise and blame,
but do not let either affect the poise of the mind:

follow the calmness, the absence of pride.
“Sutta Nipata”

Christmas time is a time for giving, loving and remembering. Giving love and remembering those we love. A time for remembering our loved ones on earth and our loved ones who have gone back home to the spirit world.

Sending out kind thoughts to those who cannot be with us and those we have not seen for ages.  Sadly, we do lose touch with people in this busy world.

Send out loving thoughts to those who are unable to enjoy the spirit of Christmas because of ill health or loneliness. There are many in such situations.

It is also a time for forgiving and forgetting. Life is too short to bear  grudges. Let it go and you will feel better.  Move on in life and aspire to better things and situations.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

“Conquer the angry man by love.
Conquer the ill-natured man by goodness.

Conquer the miser with generosity.
Conquer the liar with truth.”

BUT I NEVER DO TERRIBLE THINGS…

“Please don’t hurt others…
Please try to work with people and be helpful to them.

A fantastically large number of people need help.
Please try to help them, for goodness sake, for heaven and earth.

Don’t just collect Oriental wisdoms one after the other.
Don’t just sit on an empty meditation cushion.
But go out and try to help others, if you can.

That is the main point…
Your help doesn’t have to be a big deal.

To begin with, just work with your friends and work with yourself at the same time.
It is about time we became responsible for this world.”

Chogyam Trungpa, from “Great Eastern Sun: The Wisdom of Shambhala”

Yes, there is a lot of it about.  Still there are psychics who believe they are mediums and don’t even know the difference. This is beyond belief. They have surely never sat for development with an experienced medium tutor.

Or, an even worse scenario, they have sat but not taken any notice of the teacher, thinking they themselves know better.  And yes, a good teacher can tell which you are using, psychic or mediumship. They know if you are linked to spirit, even when you do not.

I know how it goes. I have seen it all too often. They join a development circle and then decide they are too good for it and already know it all.  The trouble is they then get on the platform and make a mess of it.  They don’t produce the life after death proof which is the medium’s paramount job on the platform.  They cannot, they haven’t got a mediums gift.

Remember, not all those who sit for development are mediumistic. Yes we are all psychic and can develop our psychic ability, but it does not make a medium.  A medium is born with the gift. They may take time to know it, but when they develop it soon shows.

The same goes with trance. Some are convinced they have it, when they do not. They often give themselves away by opening their eyes whilst in a so called trance and having a normal conversation with people. What a crock!  You cannot carry on in trance with your eyes fully open. Once you open your eyes your conscious state alters again. Even if you have been in trance, the act of opening your eyes brings you out of it.

The ones who rely on funny voices and a touch of gurning are the worst, but quite the funniest to watch. (Oh what fools the public think spiritualists are)

I witnessed the great Gordon Higginson in trance on many occasions. Never did he open his eyes whilst in trance. His guides and communicators would change during the sitting but he never opened his eyes. He brought forth many spirit communicators who gave proof of survival. What a true gem to aspire to.

For those of you who feel they are in trance but are still able to function as though you are not, consider this: you may be fooling yourself. Your perception of what trance really is may not be correct.  You may be being overshadowed. This often happens.   You may in fact be deluding yourself.

The problem here is that you will not be deluding others.  They will watch you and see you are not in trance, unless they too know nothing of the subject. And you will be lowered in their esteem. I know of some so called trance mediums who are laughed at behind their backs.  Not nice, but understandable. There is little more amusing to watch, than a bad actor.

Take care,  and research your subject before finding yourself a good tutor.  Only when your tutor is happy with your work will you be ready to show others.
