Happy new year to all of you.

New year is often a time for reflection. We think of the past and hope for the future. We remember all our loved ones who are no longer with us on the material plane of life. We remember the influences they had upon our lives. We realise how much we miss them.

It is also a time for hope. For setting in motion the things we want to achieve during the coming year.  We strive to make things better. Better in whose eyes?

We can put regrets behind us and leave blame and accusations alone for once. Move forward in a more positive manner. We can ask spirit to help us by inspiring our thoughts and deeds.

Life is for living and we must make the most of the time we have here to improve ourselves and nourish our spirit.  Life is to enjoy in every way.

So, enjoy 2011 like you have never enjoyed a year before!  May Spirit Bless You!

Are ribbon readings just psychometry?

This is a question I have been asked. The answer is simply that most mediums who are not used to working with colours will use the ribbons as a form of psychometry.  They can pick up on the vibrations which the sitter has left on the ribbons when they handled them. There is nothing wrong with that.

I personally do not use the ribbons for psychometry though.  It is the colours I read, not the vibrations. So what is the difference?

Psychometry can only be used in a psychic way. That is, the vibrations left on the item being used are picked up and given by a psychic, but these are only present day vibrations. Therefore, you only get information about the here and now.

This can sometimes be the sitter’s hopes and wishes rather than the facts. This can be the psychic’s downfall. You do not get information about ‘dead’ relatives with psychometry.  This means that there can be no proof of survival of the soul or spirit in this type of a reading.

When I give a colour reading, using the ribbons, I give the meaning of the colours the sitter has chosen, and whilst I am doing this, spirit can get through to me to give me information to relay to my sitter. Therefore it is simple to give after death survival evidence.

The spirit entities, the sitter’s loved ones, will bring information from the past and the present, and even sometimes from the future, although readings cannot ever be used to predict:  that is not what spirit communication is about. It is about survival evidence and giving comfort and reassurance to the loved ones on this earth plane.

Today, our dog Gabi is in good spirits.  She is once again her happy, cocky self.

Today, the vet could not believe that this was the same dog who was at deaths door on Christmas Day.  Yes she has stitches the full length of her tum and her groin too. Yes she is on meds.  But, oh what a difference a day and Spirit Healing make.

I know we have a good vet and he did remarkable surgey in an emergency situaltion. But I know that her quick recovery has been helped by spirit healing.  Healing and medical intervention go hand in hand.

Please keep sending your healing thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much.

We have a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel called Gabi.  She is 7 years old and part of the family. Christmas Day she became life threateningly ill. She had a strangulated hernia.

We have a great vet who decided at midnight that she must have surgery or she would be dead by today. It was a really difficult time.

I asked Spirit for help and healing. I asked that she receive all the healing she would need to get her through the night.  I prayed and left her in the hands of Ian the vet.

Today we picked Gabi up and brought her safely home.  She is still poorly but the surgery was a success. The vet said it was only his second case in over 30 years of working with animals. We are so lucky she survived.

I am certain we had the help of spirit and I know they can help animals as well as humans. She will take time to recover, so I ask you all to send healing for her. Thank You.

The simplest and most primitive forms of psychic phenomena are of a physical nature.  Hence, Physical Mediumship.  Physical mediumship is often described as ‘manipulation of energies and energy systems by spirits’.

The special characteristic of physical phenomena, is that the effects produced can be perceived by the physical senses, so that those who witness such phenomena can have no doubts about it. There is always the need for ectoplasm, which comes from a physical medium.

Spirits use ectoplasm which they have taken from the medium and the other sitters during in a seance.  There has to be a developed physical medium in the circle for any of this to occur.

Physical mediumship may involve loud raps and noises, voices, materialized objects, apports, materialised spirit bodies, or body parts such as hands, and even levitation.

Most physical mediumship occurs in a darkened or dimly lit room. Though the modern day view is that it can occur in a lighted room. The physical mediums make use of a traditional array of tools such as trumpets and cabinets, in order for spirit to make their presence felt.

Spirit use the ectoplasm to make masks of the spirit, so that they can once again show their earthly appearance.  The use of a cabinet allows for the ectoplasm to be contained so that spirit can form features which can be recognised by the sitters.

There will be more on this subject  at a later date.

Apports are ‘gifts’ that manifest from non-physical, to physical reality. They may be flowers, jewellery, or other, usually small, objects.   Manifestation is thought to be linked to teleportation or telekinesis, brought about by one or more of the people in the seance room.

Basically, mediums sit in a closed circle and develop the gift of physical mediumship. On occasion they may find an apport appears in the seance room whilst they are sitting. A gift out of nowhere!

It is thought a spirit loved one, brings the apports as a gift, usually for one of the sitters. Often the gift has symbolic significance for the person receiving it.  But this is not always the case.  The apport just seems to appear from out of nowhere!

A seance room is just a room used by mediums to conduct a circle in order to communicate with spirit.  The circle members usually prepare the room so that the conditions are right for the purpose. For instance, they like it to be cool, with subdued or no lighting.  Above all they need it to be comfortable so that they can relax and allow spirit to use them.

It is usually a group of mediums who have knowledge of communicating with spirit. It is not really suitable for novices.  The sitters need to be calm and not scared in any way.  Spirit need the sitters to be comfy with each other too.

Whilst graphology is a purely scientific skill, it is something that people with an interest in the psychic and mediumistic, often enjoy. Maybe it is the ‘magic’ of it all.

Strangely, I first became interested in the subject whilst I was on a course at the Arthur Findlay SNU College at Stansted, many years ago.  This is the college for psychic and mediumistic studies.  But, on this occasion, and several others at the time, there was a lady there who gave readings via handwriting. She was a graphologist.

There was little that she could not tell you about yourself from the small sample of writing she asked for.  She was obviously gifted mediumistically too, as she gave more than she could get from the writing alone. Yet, the writing says so much.

Our handwriting says everything about us, except sometimes your sex is not revealed.  Each curl and curve, each dot and dash, serve as body language on the paper.  Just the space you use up making a letter, tells all sorts about you.

After I got interested I decided to take it up seriously and I went to college to further my studies.  I am forever amazed by the information gleaned from writing, as I am about the information gleaned through psychic means.  Together, I find it wonderful. Having both gifts is truly a bonus.

There are many books on the subject, but like mediumship, you are forever learning.  There is no substitute for learning other than practice.  Knowledge on the subject matter plus lots of work practicing.

Yes, you can develop your sixth sense. Anyone can!

You do not have to take up Spiritualism or any other religion either,  to develop your psychic gifts.  Religious people are not the only ones granted these extra senses.  Your religious beliefs remain your own and can be kept private if that is your wish, as no one will ask you about it at the spiritualist meetings.

At home, either by yourself or with a small group of like minded people, is a good place to begin your development.  I have devised my own method of development and if you would like to find out more about it, email me through my web site or add a comment on this page and I will get back to you.

Meditation is  good to begin your development with. Learning to relax helps both the physical body and also to quieten the mind.  My own method uses meditation, but you do not have to be used to meditation in order to learn how to attune yourself to your sixth sense. It all comes with practice.

Remember, we are all psychic but not all of us are mediums.  Anyone can work on developing their psychic ability, but it does not mean that you will become mediumistic.  I believe that mediums are born with this special gift, although they still need to develop their psychic ability in order to learn to communicate with the spirit world.

More on this subject in future posts.
