Mediumship and Beyond

I gave a private reading to a lady in BC Canada, and she kindly gave me permission to relate part of it to my readers and other seekers of truth.

Her son Trevor, had been killed in a road accident and I gave her lots of information during the reading about the event. In fact I knew nothing of the event until that reading.

I told her Trevor, showed me 2 different ambulances at the scene of the car crash and that one went one way to a hospital and the other went in the opposite direction to a different hospital. One contained Trevor and the other his wife, Ximi.

I saw the rescue team get a lady out of one door, her face being covered in glass, but they could not open the drivers door and the car had burst into flames. I saw them trying to get him out and eventually they did get him out and took him to a specialist unit. He showed me the things that happened whilst he was in the emergency room and I related them to his Mother, to her amazement.

He told me that he died from head injuries and mercifully did not feel the pain of fire as he was unconscious.  This to the relief of his Mum.

He described a lady in the Spirit World who was now looking after him. The description and details of passing fitted his maternal grand mother. This pleased his mum, who wanted to know he was not alone. She also wanted to know if he was still around herself as she thought she had become aware of him.

Trevor told me that the day before our reading, he had been watching his Mother, in her home, and she was kicking, cussing and crying at her vacuum cleaner. This made his mum both laugh and cry. She said she never, ever, vacuumed, as she had a cleaner who did it all.  Except, the day prior to the reading.  After the char lady had gone home, there was a bit of an accident and she had broken an item, causing a mess. So, unlike her, she got out the vacuum cleaner to clear the mess but could not get it to work.

She told me the tale of how she kicked and cussed at the vacuum and ended up in tears of frustration. This was obviously when her son Trevor had been there watching her. She was so pleased he could tell her about the past events, and then to prove to her he was still around by relating the recent event was a great bonus for her.

There were lots of little things unique to Trevor and his Mum, which he mentioned during the reading. It was a good mixture of past and present, but he also gave her information about things she did not know. This perhaps proved to her it could not have been some sort of mind reading.

Trevor said to tell his wife, Ximi, about the dream catcher, and we both thought he meant an American Indian dream catcher charm. He said his watch was in the glove box and his mum knew nothing of this. Trevor wanted this to prove it to Ximi too.

Later, she contacted her son’s widow, who had by then moved out of the country. Ximi told his mum that after the crash and her subsequent discharge from hospital, she had gone to the pound to collect the personal items from the crashed car. They gave her a couple of things which had included Trevor’s watch. They told her they found it in the glove box. It had been a gift from his wife.

When asked about the Dreamcatcher, Ximi said: It was in fact Trevor’s favourite Stephen King novel, and they had been together to see the film of the same story, just prior to the car crash. The crash had happened when they were newly weds.

Both Mother and Daughter in Law found great comfort in the proof of life after death that Trevor had given them.  Many things have happened along their journey since then, which reinforces their belief that they will all be together again one day.

I think not.  Mediumship is something in you which has to be developed in order for it to work properly.  Having a certificate does not make this any easier or any harder.

In fact, certificates for mediums is simply the SNU – Spiritualist National Union – way of keeping control over serving mediums. It also controls the way in which mediums put over their message.

This for me is sad, as I always find it nice to see different mediums working in their own style. We are not all uniform and it is not natural to be a copycat version of the medium who instructed us.

I work in my own way and have developed my own style. I also encourage my students to use their own style and not to try to emulate other mediums. How boring it would all become if we all worked the same way.

Mediumship should be spontaneous. It is a gift, but with it we have personal responsibility and the ability to put across our message with dignity and compassion. This is often lacking in those who are ‘working towards accreditation’.

The SNU pan is for all mediums who serve their churches to be accredited by them.  In my opinion, it can never happen as there are not enough mediums who want to be accredited. Therefore, when there is no accredited medium available, they will always have one that is not. This is the better option than having no medium at all.

Of the mediums I have seen, the ones who are not certificated, seem to be far more developed than those who are.  If you see ones who are like parrots, repeating and spouting the same stuff, then you will know which you have.

I am a member of the SNU but am not, nor do I want to be, certified by one of their education team tutors.  As always, I look forward to your comments on this subject.

I am often asked questions about what goes on at a spiritualist church during the Sunday services.  People want to know if we sit in the dark holding hands and levitate.  I wish!!

Our divine Sunday service is very like the Sunday service in an Anglican church. Hymns, prayers and readings. The only difference is, we have a medium instead of a vicar.  We also have a chairperson for the service.

Instead of preaching, the medium of the day will say words  philosophy.  There will also be a Healing List read out along with a request for Spiritual healing.

The latter part of the service is when the visiting medium will demonstrate clairvoyance, in order to give proof of life after death.

So, the main difference is medium instead of vicar, philosophy instead of preaching and clairvoyant demonstration instead of bible readings.  The hymns are sometimes very similar.

This coming Sunday, it is my turn to be Medium for the Sunday Divine service.  If you want to know more then why not come along.  The service begins at 6.30 and runs until approximately 8pm. Enjoy!

According to Melinda in this week’s Ghost Whisperer, automatic writing is caused by possession!  How wrong the researchers are this time.

It has nothing to do with possession.  Automatic writing is like many forms of mediumship, where the medium allows them self to be used as a channel so that spirit can work through them. Not the same as possession at all.

The medium has to tune themself in to a higher level of consciousness, in order for the spirit guide to work with the pen or pencil.

The medium sits with pen and paper. Then the medium goes to a higher level of consciousness and welcomes their spirit guide to come and inspire them, so that they may write directly the words spirit wants.

This is all about inspiration, just as when the medium and guide work together in mental medium ship. It is also the same way in which psychic art world.

We mediums are but channels for the use of the spirit communicators. Regardless of what Melinda Gordon is made to say in Ghost Whisperer.

There is to be a Psychic Supper at Whitham Road SNU on 27th November. There are usually such events at most SNU churches around the UK. Maybe a couple each year at each church.

These are fund raising events. Usually the money is used to pay for such things as church repairs.  Mediums usually give their time voluntarily and only take travel expenses from the church. Therefore most of the money made can be made good use of.

The actual event is simple really.  A number of tables are set out and a medium is allocated to each table. Those who buy tickets join the mediums at the tables and each person is given a short reading.

After the readings supper is served. And everyone dines before the event comes to an end.

Whenever TV companies allow mediums to appear on screen, it always seems like they are on trial. They are made to look like they are insane or con men!

To begin with, mediumship is always an experiment, as it is impossible to summon up a spirit willy-nilly. I know that some mediums in the past have made it sound as though they could summon up anyone from Elvis, to Diana Dors, to JFK.  – The late Doris Stokes springs to mind here – They cannot call them up or summon them.

Spirits belong in the Spirit World and only make contact with us when there is a mutual need. This being when there is a special link between spirit and sitter. You cannot ask a medium to call up Elvis and expect him to appear, though that would make great TV, would it not? If it was his wife or daughter at the sitting it may be different. And what a spectacle!

What happens in reality is: A medium asks the spirit world if there is anyone who wishes to make themselves known to the sitter.  It is only then that communication can take place. It is then that you find out who is wanting to come through.

When watching TV programmes on mediums,  I always squirm in my seat whilst the psychic on screen tries to convince the presenter, and the audience, that they have a gift.  Often it will be a psychic who asks the sitter or questioner,  ‘Who do you want to speak to?’  and then goes on to say  ‘I have them here and they are ok. ’ Where is the proof in that?

It is even worse when the psychic seems to be taken over by a spirit. Am I the only medium to find it very embarrassing? Spirits do not take over a medium during mental mediumship. Only when the medium has a physical gift is it different and in any way like that.

As always, use common sense to help you sort the wheat from the chaffe. Don’t be conned by these charlatans.  Hopefully, when it is clear that we will not be tricked, maybe we will get more honest TV!

This is a very emotive subject, but I ask you to use common sense here to understand what goes on once we, and babies, passover to the spirit world.  Babies are human beings too as well as spirits.

When a person takes their transition and passes to the higher side of life, they are going back home from whence they came.  They chose to come here so that their spirit could evolve.

When a child passes over, the same thing happens. They go back home to their spirit family and await the return home of their loved ones, who they have left here on this earth plane.

They leave their body here, as we all do. It is not needed in the spirit world. That’s why it is ‘spirit world’, because it is the home of spirits. Bodies are not required.

Therefore, the body of a baby does not grow after it has passed away.  Neither do the bodies of any of us. And, when the babies parents take their transition, the baby will be there to meet them and will look exactly the same as when they were last on earth. They will be reunited with a special bond.

It will matter not that the parents looks have changes as they have aged. The child will have watched over its parents and family and seen all the progress made. So there will be no surprises. Just the knowledge that they are united in their home in the Spirit World

There are amny ways you can find out about life after death.  The best way is to seek out a good medium and have a private reading.

Mediums do work in churches and halls and do give group readings.  These are often very good and if no one knows you, you are more likely to get personal detail without doubting it.  When you are known to the medium, you may always think that they already knew about certain elements of the reading.

When you go for a private consultation, there is just you, face to face with the medium. You will have no one else’s vibes in the way, just the ones coming from yourself. The medium will be able to concentrate on just you and your spirit loved ones.

There are bound to be elements of the reading where you really have to think or jog your memory about. Some things you may not recall until later. We cannot have instant recall of all our life’s incidents can we!

The emdium will give you information to prove there is life after death. This will include names, incidents, descriptions and characteristics.  Loved ones will do their best to communicate evidence that will prove they belong to you.

My main no no here is – don’t give out info about yourself – wait for the medium to tell you.  As I have said many times, keep your own input to yes, no, or I don’t know what you mean.

Try to get a medium who has been recommended to you by someone you know or trust.  Or you can contact your local spiritualist church for a medium who gives private readings.  Enjoy!

I have talked at length about psychometry on this blog but there is still more I wish to share with you.

All things hold vibrations, with the exception of pure silk.  Wherever the item has been, and whoever has touched it, vibrations and information have been left on every article, relic and stone.

Even if you give the item a good clean, vibrations are still held there for ever.

When you practice psychometry, there are different types of information which you can feel.  There is the information from historic times in which the item has been around  and there is the info which people have left on them.

You can, if you like, try only to get the info form the history side of the item. This means the places where it originated or where it has been kept.

You can also go one further by picking up the vibes from the person who owns it and has had it in their keeping.  This way you will get a lot about everyday life of the owner of the object.

If you are mediumistic, you may take it even further. When you have gleaned all the information the item holds, you can then use the item as a focal point, whilst you tune into the spirit world to get more information about the owner.

Concentrating on the item you have psychometerised, you will leave a channel which will enable spirit to get into your consciousness.  How wonderful that you can use ‘old things’ for this purpose too.

It never ceases to surprise me the lengths spirit go to prove that there is life after death, and that they are still around us, watching over loved ones.

I just gave a private reading and I was really impressed with the proof my sitter’s loved ones brought to her.  They obviously are watching over her and seem to know everything about her too.

Apart from loved ones, spirit even brought in a dog, which she was very happy about.  Dogs always come around when they know you are in need of comfort.  That’s what they did on the material plane and they can still do it now.

I also like the way spirit brought in ‘memory joggers’, as I call them.  Whenever my sitter says no to anything, I ask the spirits to bring in a memory jogger to help them place the person spirit are talking about.  It stops the sitter thinking of the wrong person.

All in all, the message contained a lot of evidence, and a lot of words of comfort. I am sure my sitter will feel much easier in her grief than she did before.
