Can a person begin working as a medium without first having developed in a circle? In theory yes, they can. In reality they will find it extremely difficult.
The development circle is the backbone of mediumship. It is where a novice learns how to put together, and put across, the messages being communicated by spirits.
The development circle is also a good place to begin using meditation to get to know your guide and to understand the relationship you have together. A trust is developed in the private circle too.
The novice will also learn a lot about themslf too. Patience is learned, whilst learning to collect all the information coming through. A lot of information is often missed by the student and the circle helps you to understand why this is and therefore, to improve upon the result.
There are those who like to say that they have never sat in a circle. Born a medium they never felt the need for developemnt! In their opinion maybe.
I know one such medium who says this. I know that they have sat in a circle but they may not have seen it as development. Just remember that you are always developing and that you always will be. Development is eternal as is the progression of the soul.
If you are a good medium then you will always want to improve and that is part of what keeps development going.

Barbara,
This is such excellent advice!
It’s like any other profession – the longer you do it and the more you practice, the better you become. I love sitting in a development circle. Many times when I explain what I’ve seen, or heard or felt – circle members find more meaning in it than I do!
