Psychometrythe supposed ability to discover facts about an event or person from inanimate objects associated with them. Oxford English Dictionary.

Not to be confused with psychometric testing, which some companies use in their recruitment process.

Many psychics and mediums use this method of divination, especially when giving a private reading.  It is often a very interesting way to glean information, but it does have its drawbacks.  If the item belonged to someone else originally you may find their vibrations are still on it. This could lead to a lot of  negative responses from the sitter.

The psychic or medium takes hold of an item, preferably one which only its owner has held.  The medium then tunes in their sixth sense to the vibrations on the item. This may sound weird and spooky but it is very simple and straight forward.

Every object holds vibrations and all the vibrations give off energy which is full of information.  The information gleaned can be about the owner of the item or about the history of the piece or, an amalgamation of both.

It is sometimes used whilst the medium adjusts to the person for whom they are giving the reading. Especially if they are giving several readings in succession.

Flowers or foliage are often used for this purpose. It is always best when giving a flower reading to ask that the sitter picks the flower themselves and lets no one else touch it.  The flower will then only hold the vibrations of the owner.

A really good reading using psychometry would begin with the reading of vibrations from an object or flower and continue into a a mediumistic reading when the medium has settled down and tuned into the spirits.

Flower services are sometimes held at Spiritualist churches but not on Sunday when it is a Divine service.

There are lots of different types of healing and healers out there. Doctors, nurses, vets, listeners, to name but a few! It would take up a lot of space to list all that I can think of, let alone the ones I can find on the Internet. There is one thing that I believe healers have in common, and that is COMPASSION.

You can have lots of qualifications and certificates or diplomas, but in my humble opinion they are useless withought compassion.

Many people are under the misapprehension that spiritual healers are faith healers.  They are not. You do not have to have faith in order to be healed or to give healing. One thing that spiritualism does not ask you to do, is to take anything on faith.  The Spiritualist religion is founded on ‘proving all things’.

Sometimes, regardless of healing and treatment, a child has a miraculous recovery from a serious illness.  They didn’t have faith that they would be healed. They did not understand, because they were too young.

The same thing is true of animals. An animal cannot have a faith to believe in, to ensure their recovery from illness. Sure, they trust the vet or his nurse, but isn’t that because they can sense their compassion. Animals don’t have the type of brain that allows them a faith, as in the religious sense.

I am not saying that to have a faith is wrong. By all means have faith in whatever you believe. There are many good healers who are involved in faiths of all types and faith does not prevent healing.

Compassion though, is what is needed not faith, for healing to work.  If we all had more compassion and shared it with others more often, then the world would be a happier and healthier place.

I am interested in the views of others as usual and look forward to receiving your comments.

Here’s to all the compassionate folk out there who give their all to make others feel better. May they forever be granted good health.

When a psychic or medium tunes into a person and starts to give a message, it is often known as making a link, a psychic link.

When the medium is working in a large room with several people, or a church with lots of people, it can sometimes be difficult to place that link with the correct person.  Trial and error eventually lead the experienced medium to a preferred method.

We can all accept names that may belong to loved ones, family or friends. We all know of people who passed to the spirit world with certain ailments. We all have a lot in common.  But, we don’t have everything in common.

If a medium says there is a George calling his name, lots of people in the room could think it was their particular George.  There may be 5 or 6 hands go up in response.  If then the medium says this particular George passed over through a heart condition, the number of hands may be down to 2 or 3. They may then say that this particular George was a postman. This may be the clincher, the piece of the jigsaw puzzle that helps all the other pieces fit together.

The medium now knows who the message is for and the rest of the information coming in on that link can be given directly to that one person.  A message should not be split up and a bit given here and another bit there. It does not work like that.  A spirit will communicate for the one loved one, his own.  Giving bits away around the room is very wrong.

Mediums with lots of experience at working with large groups of sitters usually know who their link is with and will not need to go through this procedure to whittle the numbers down.  As long as the message gets to the correct person the spirit will be grateful.

You cannot beat natural talent, be it singing, art, dancing or mediumship.  Children have natural psychic ability and a natural flare for saying it as it is.

We all have this inate ability but when we arrive at birth onto this earth plane some of us forget how to use the gift.  Children, because they have been here the shortest length of time, are the least likely to have forgotten.

Children tend to  use the gift by instinct, until such a time as society knocks it out of them.  This is usually as they get a little older, when those around them do not appear to use the same skills.  Peer pressure is not a good thing for little psychic souls.

Once the child begins to realise that not everyone uses the same senses as them, they become afraid that they may be considered odd and strange.  They are afraid they will be laughed at and marginalised.

The child decides to keep their ability to them self and stop using the psychic gifts that have been bestowed on them.  It is really a shame, as such a gift nurtured can become a great source of  proof from the spirit world.  Proof that would help mankind believe in life after death.

If you have a child who still uses his or her psychic ability,  please nurture that gift and help them understand how special they are to use it.  When they are older you can seek help for them to develop as they wish.

If you have not yet read the post from two days ago, 9th June, I suggest you do so that you know the first part of this story.  This article is about my youngest son , who at 8 years old started to give messages in a private home circle.

It must have been the very relaxed atmosphere and lack of rules and regulations which made the home circle the right place for my young son to take his first steps into the mediums world.

After his success at holding the gentlemans wedding ring, a woman named Carol gave my son a small, very dainty dress ring.  Carol was a new person in our circle and I knew little about her except that she was hungry for proof.  At the same time she was a stickler for the truth.  She needed proof that her loved one was watching over her from the spirit world.

My son held Carole’s ring for a short time before then telling me he had something to tell her.  We all waited with baited breath, wondering just what he was going to say.

My son began his message.  He gave it in short statements and without hesitation.  The first thing he said was:

” I see a girl’s house with the number 3 on the door”   to which I asked “How do you know it’s a girl’s house?”

“Because it is pink” he said, very matter of factly.

“I see a birthday cake with 18 candles on it, but they haven’t been blown out”

“I see a plane flying to America, Disneyland”

“There is an empty seat at the back”

Carol was astounded and her eyes were filled with tears.  She began to explain:

“The ring is my daughter’s.

My daughter was almost 18 and we had ordered a big cake with 18 candles.

We had booked to take her on a dream trip to Disney World in Florida for her 18th birthday. She had always wanted to go there.

She got very ill and died shortly before her 18th birthday.  She neither blew out the candles nor took up her seat on the plane.

We all live at number 3.

The ring was her daughter’s and she now wore it all the time! ”

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.  Carol was amazed and said it gave her the belief that her daughter was still around and it proved mediumship was real, not fake, as she had feared.

All the other sitters wanted my son to give them a message but I thought he had had enough excitement for one night.  But was he really excited?  Not really, because he thought it was a natural thing to do and he had seen me and my medium friends do it many times.  So he took it all in his stride.

It was a night I will never forget.

Sara Payne is the mother of murdered school girl Sarah Payne. Sarah was murded 10 years ago when she was only 8.  She would now be celebrating with her family as she would be 18.  How very sad that she cannot be here with the family who love her so much.

Sara is now a campaigner for childrens’  rights. She works tirelessly to defend children from the  paedophiles who prey on them.  She is very focused and never gives up even though she has suffered severe health problems herself.

Sara had a stroke after brain surgery and now has a great loss of feeling in her left side.  Nothing though will stop her efforts to help children.  Her dedication is admirable and if anyone deserves a medal then it is Sara.

What Sara needs at this time is lots of spiritual healing.  Healing to help boost her strength and to help her body keep going.  Healing to ease her troubled mind and give her relaxation and much needed sleep to help her recovery.

Sara hasn’t asked for this.  She is selfless.  All the more reason I ask all you healers out there to send out absent healing.  Those of you who do not feel they are healers can still help by sending out love and positive thoughts.  Lets try and make a difference too.

Thank You all!

The best thing about psychic kids is that they say exactly what they see or what they hear.  They don’t add to and embellish.  They don’t analyse.  They just tell you exactly what they are picking up.  They don’t think about making it more interesting or changing things.  What you see is what you get with psychic kids.

Children are just so natural, and of course being psychic is natural to them.  That is before adults get to them or peer pressure sets in.  That’s when things go awry.

When my youngest son was just 8 years old I took him with me to a private home circle.  The reason being that my hubby had to work and I had no sitter for him.  This was his first home circle, but he had been to church with me on many occasions and sat with me and my friends at our own home.

I always assumed he just wanted to be with me, and that he wasn’t really taking an interest in spiritualism or mediumship.  How wrong I was!

At this particular home circle, the lady of the house decided we should try psychometry.  So, after a prayer the tray was passed around and we all put something on it.  Small items like pieces of jewellery or keys and such.  Then the tray went around again and we all took something off it.

My son whispered to me that he hadn’t got anything off the tray and he wanted to try.  A kindly old gentleman heard him and gave his wedding ring for him to hold.

We all sat and meditated on our particular item and by turn passed on the relevant pieces of information that we had picked up from it.  Some of us also tuned into spirit and gave mediumistic messages to add to the psychic info.

When we had all finished, my son wanted to give the old gent a message.  I was surprised, but he proceeded to tell the man a name and describe a man who smoked a pipe.  The gent told him that it was good because the name he gave belonged to the pipe smoker he had described.

This caused a bit of a stir in the circle and the other sitters were asking how long he had been giving messages.  I told them that this was a first and that I was a bit amazed myself.  They all wanted him to them a message too.

What happened next?  I will tell you in Friday’s post………..

Have you seen the many sites dedicated to ESP and Telepathy?  They are the ones where you are invited to take a test to see if you are psychic.

I have tried these tests.  Well, some of them.  The ones where there are cards with different images on them.  I am no good at them.  In fact I usually get a below average score.  Yet I am very psychic and I am a clairvoyant medium!

It is assumed that if you are good at the tests then you must be psychic.  They presume that telepathy is what psychics use.  They think that by holding cards up and asking the person to choose one of 5 or 6 shapes, they can tell who has psychic ability and who has not.

Surely this is all rather to do with the law of averages.  I find that when I am given choices my own mind starts to persuade me.  That is why when I am giving a reading, I ask the sitter not to ask any questions until I am finished.

If you have an alert mind then your mind is bound to be asking questions.  If asked if it is boy or girl, the mind knows is has to be one or the other so you give an answer. It doesn’t mean you got that answer mediumistically. It is your own mind working.

When mediums work,  they have to raise their level of consciousness so that their mind cannot interfere with the incoming communication from the spirit world.  If they work at the same level intended by the esp and telepathy testers, then their mind will take over.  It will block out the spirit’s message.

Therefore, I do not believe that being good at esp and telelpathy tests makes you a good psychic or medium. Just a lucky guesser.

There are lots of good healing therapies around which can make you feel better if you are under the weather.  Not to replace the good old GP or medics, but to add to your health and well being.

The sort of things I am thinking of are Reiki, massage, Indian head massage, Reflexology, crystal healing and many others.

These are called alternative therapies, but I think they are additional therapies.  Therapies which soothe the body and mind without interfering with traditional treatments given by your doctor.

Anything which helps soothe and relax you will obviously help the healing process of your mind and body.  If the mind is calm and relaxed then the body heals quicker.

If you wish to partake of any of these therapies there are endless websites where you can find out more about them.  You can also ask friends and colleagues if they have tried any and what did they think of them.

Spiritual Healing is another, very important, therapy.  Given that you get in touch with a really good, compassionate healer, you can be soothed and relaxed whilst sitting on a chair.  Your local spiritualist church healing group can help but also the SNU website is full of healing advice.

When you find a good therapist or healer, tell your your friends and please email me so that I can share your experiences with many others.

We all have the ability to develop our sixth sense and use our psychic ability. It takes time and effort, but is very rewarding when you have mastered a technique that suits you.  You can make the choice.  You may not be a medium, but you are psychic.

Most of us are just aware of the five physical senses and are surprised to find there are others. Especially psychic senses.  They think it is too paranormal.  Too extraordinary!  When it really is a natural gift which seems to have become stifled in most of us as we have ‘evolved’.  Learning to awaken this sense is a natural thing to do.  Yes you have to work for it but it is worth it.

Nowadays there are Spiritualist churches all over the world.  There are lots of opportunities to learn how to become psychically aware, and indeed, to practise your new found gift when you are ready.

There are psychic workshops which are very useful because it is more intense training than a weekly event.  You can learn a lot from them, psychic awareness being the most important. Plus you will meet others who are developing too and you can share experiences with them.

You do not have to go to church or take on a new religion. You can go to development groups and classes almost anywhere now. There are also books which can help you.   Though try to use ones which have been recommended.

If you want to try a course of awareness at home, then stay tuned to this site, as I will be posting some  useful information for you in the near future.

If you are not yet ready to try it for yourself, then you might like to try a psychic event at a hall or church nearby. There are always plenty on offer, although some are quite pricey. Church ones are the generally the least expensive. There is usually a good calibre of mediumship, although sometimes not so good.

You can also host your very own psychic evening.  If you would like to know more about this then please email me at the link above.
