The open circle is a great place for a medium or psychic to practice their psychic ability. It is much less formal than the Divine service or other church events.
What usually happens is that people come along and sit in a circle. Sometimes the circles can get very big. It depends on the popularity of the church. Any novice or experienced psychic worker or medium can sit in the circle.
Usually a prayer is said, and sometimes a hymn to open the service. The leader of the group will then tell the circle they are all welcome and invite them to work within the circle.
If you are new to this sort of circle you may wonder what to do. If you are a sitter then just relax in the circle and wait to see if you get a message. If you are a worker, simply relax and open up the way you have been taught. Let your consciousness move to a higher level so that spirit can get through to you. Then wait for your spirit link.
Once you have a link with spirit you need to know who it is for. Unless you have a really great relationship with a guide who tells you who to go to, you need to look around the circle. I used to find that letting my eyes drift around the circle until I felt my gaze lift and pause, was a good way to find my recipient.
Your guide will inspire your gaze to stop at or near the correct sitter. If you work with colour then your guide may show you a colour to look for. Once you feel you are with the right person, you are ready to work.
Wait until there is no other medium on their feet and then get up. Ask the person who you have been led to if you may come to them, or talk with them. Stay standing in front of your seat. It is frowned upon to walk across the circle or to go and stand by a sitter. When they say yes (usually) you can begin passing on the communication.
Give your message clearly and wait for responses. It is so annoying when mediums keep going and don’t give the sitter chance to say yes or no. If it is yes then all well and good. If the answer is no then you need to work to get the right answer. The ball is in your court and it is your responsibility.
When you have finished your message you may say ‘I will leave you now’, or something else that you feel will indicate that the message is over. You can sit down and let spirit come to you with another spirit link and message.
It can be difficult if you get a person who tries to take every message that is given. It may seem odd to you but most churches have a person like this. They will shout up ‘I think you are with me’, or some similar phrase. You have to stand your ground and carry on if you are sure you have the right link.
Don’t worry too much if you get a link which you cannot place. Not everyone likes to speak up in public. Thank spirit and move on.
Don’t forget to close down and ground yourself before leaving the circle. Enjoy!
