My ‘Empty Chair’ readings have become popular both for private readings and for workshops.
Here is an example of one.
I was warmly greeted by a lady at the door of a lovely neat bungalow. The lady invited me in and introduced her daughter. They had invited me to their home in order to give them a private reading.
I was ushered to a rather wear worn but comfy easy chair. They gave me a cup of tea and the sitting began.
I soon became aware of a very small gentleman. He had soft grey hair and a bristly chin. He looked a bit dishevelled in his shirt sleeves and trousers. He had on a belt but also braces. I relayed this information to my two sitters. They knew exactly who he was.
He gave the name of Bernard, and my sitters confirmed it was the spirit’s name. He reminisced about old times and talked of the problems that his wife was dealing with. He offered guidance but the lady said he couldn’t handle problems when he was here so why could she trust him now. We all laughed at this, including the spirit.
He relayed the fact that I was sitting in his favourite chair. This being his favourite because he liked looking out the window which was beside it. He even gave titbits about things he remembered seeing. His wife confirmed these things.
Sitting in the ‘empty chair’ seemed to help connect with the spirit and gave the two ladies much comfort and upliftment. Because it is a simple but meaningful way to tune into spirits, I use the ‘Empty Chair’ at workshops to help my students. I use a slightly different method for this purpose.
All the students sit in a circle and then I ask one to leave the room. Whilst one of the other students places their chair in the centre of the circle. They move away from the chair before the student returns. The student returns to the room and sits in the central chair.
The students tune in to the vibes left there in the chair by the student who left the room. They are soon passing on a psychic message. At further workshops the students will attempt to tune into spirit rather than tuning in psychically.
Sometimes when a client has lost a loved one they prefer me to go to their own home to give them a reading.
They need some proof that their loved one is still ‘alive’ in the spirit world and that they are still looking over them. They feel I will get closer to them if I visit their home. Sometimes I do get closer. I sit in the loved ones chair and tune in to their spirit. It is usually not long before they come through offering up memories to prove their existence.
Here is an example:
I remember one lady’s spirit bound husband came through and told me that no one else was allowed to sit in his chair. Not me and not then, and certainly not now. He insisted that he still sat there. And, his wife insisted it too. She often felt aware of his presence.
I felt his presence strongly and also sensed his fragrance. I described the scent to the lady and she knew just what I meant. Her hubby gave me lots of memories to share with her and also gave her some reassurances about difficulties she was having in the present time. The lady felt very comforted and settled after his visit. His name was unusual or at least uncommon, Oswald. He made fun of his name too.
The lady never let anyone sit there when he was alive and now he was gone to the higher side of life, she still felt it was his chair. Quite obviously so did he.
It takes all sorts and different ways of tuning in sometimes. As long as I tune into the spirit world it all goes well. That’s what mediums are all about! Empty chairs can be a joy to ‘read’!
