The television programme Ghost Hunters is by far superior to the most haunted programme.    Although most haunted is far from good and nothing to be compared to or judged by.

In Ghost Hunters there are none of the over theatricals.  No OTT squealing or silly faces being pulled.  The team actually seem to want to find the truth, rather than over dramatised rubbish.

It is an American programme and maybe that is why it is more credible. I don’t think they would want to screen our silly version.  I certainly find it entertaining and will continue to watch in the hope that they prove something to me about the existence of ghosts.

They don’t surround themselves with lots of would be celebs.  Instead they go along to various locations, taking photographs and recording equipment.  They actually seem to know what they are doing.

Watch for Ghost Hunters on Sky TV,  and I will look forward to hear your comments and views.

I am thrilled to be featured in the April issue of Chat Its Fate magazine.  It is a while since I was first contacted by them and to finally see the article in print is great.

I was happy to hear that they wanted to know more about my flower reading experiences and since it was published others have become interested too.  I have had many emails.

One of the questions I have been asked is: Can I get a flower direct from the florist for you to read?  The answer is no.  The flower must not have been touched by anyone but you.  If it has been handled by others then it will be holding their vibes. and that will disrupt the reading flow.

Always pick your flower fresh from your garden or a field or hedgerow.  They do not have to be special flowers.  Just pick them yourself.

The reading consists of using clairsentience and clairvoyance.  It is a combination of the flower and the spirits who come through to communicate with you.

If you would like more information then please contact me by email.

I have added further names to my healing list.  I trust all the healers who read my blog will be sending out healing on a regular basis to those on the list.

I always add the names of those whose friends and loved ones who send names to me. I also add those in the public eye from time to time.

Today I have added David Beckham as he, just like others, needs healing after an injury.  I wish him well and hope he soon recovers.  With added healing who knows!

If you have friends, loved ones, or just someone you know of, who needs our help, please email me their name.  The city they live in is useful too.

We are very lucky here in the UK.  Especially England and Scotland.  That is if you are a medium or are interested in mediums and spiritualism.

There are lots of  Spiritualist Churches and lots of other places where you can now see mediums demonstrate their gifts.  Aside from the fact that you can get private consultations and readings, almost all over the country.

Many countries do not have these facilities.  There are many places where there are no mediums and psychics allowed to work.   So we are very fortunate.  There are few restrictions here.

We also have lots of psychic seminars and courses for those of you who wish to pursue the teachings of more experienced mediums.  One such place of learning is Stansted Hall, The Arthur Findlay College.  A place I have been to many times over the years.  I have met some wonderful people there and seen some brilliant mediums work.  Most of the tuition has been excellent, with a few exceptions.

It is to Stansted Hall that my friend Amanda, has flown all the way from Australia this month, to spend time with other like minded people and to develop her own spiritual and psychic gifts. She is there now and I am sure she is having a wonderful time in those lovely surroundings.

There are of course,  spiritualists and mediums in Australia, but we in England have a reputation for teaching our mediums to a high standard and people come from all over the globe.  There are many more mediums who are excellent tutors.

The sad thing is that The Arthur Findlay College is a tad expensive for a lot of people who would otherwise go to learn.  There needs to be more development opportunities for those who are perhaps a little less well off.   And of course it is not easy to get a booking on popular courses.  They are soon snapped up, especially by those from abroad who tend to book earlier than we do.

Those with families can ill afford to go to such places.  But of course there are lots of activities at local Spiritualist Churches, including development classes and workshops.  There are also classes run separate to the church, by mediums like myself.  I run them privately, but I am also available to run workshops at Spiritualist Churches.

If you are interested in any of the info here, or want a workshop in your church,  then please contact me by emailing.  Enjoy your time in England Amanda!

Not many mediums, in my experience, like to give a spirit reading without giving time and thought to it. They have to prepare.  Not all mediums use the same techniques but most prepare.  It may even be a sort of ritual.

Some like to meditate before tuning in to the spirit world.  Others may like to pray.  Some like to tune into their spirit guide and ask for their help.

Personally I like to pray and ask for my guides to come close and work with me.  I ask them to allow my sitter’s spirit loved ones to come through and bring them some proof of survival.

I tune in to a higher level of consciousness so that I can work with spirit.  By the time my sitter arrives I am well prepared to give the reading.

During the reading I communicate with my sitter, my guide, and the spirits.  There is usually a 3 way conversation.  It can become rather complicated at times but if I stay with the higher level of consciousness it works out well.

When my reading is over I always ask spirit to use up any left over energy as healing.

The words used by mediums may sometimes seem odd to those who are not into psychic speak. If you are new to watching platform mediums you may be bewildered by the words they use.  Here I have given a simple explanation of a few common terms.

A Sitter – Someone who sits with a medium to receive a psychic message

A Medium – A person used as a mediator between the sitter and the afterlife.  Or the sitter and the spirit loved ones.

A Psychic –  Someone who gives information which they glean from a sitter or object by using the sixth sense. and the sitters aura.

Clairvoyance - The gift of being able to see using the sixth sense.  To be able to see spirits and describe them.

Clairaudience -  The gift of being able to hear using the sixth sense. To hear a spirit speak.

Clairsentience - The gift of being able to feel and smell using the sixth sense.  To sense the smells and emotions relayed by the spirits.

Table Tapping -  A form of communication which uses the sitters’ psychic energy to tap, or move a table.  Used quite a lot by the Victorians and people within the circle of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Still used by some spiritualists. I have never found it useful personally, as the messages and tappings can be pre-empted by the sitters’ thoughts.  That’s not good.  But it is a good demonstration of psychic phenomena.

Trance Medium -When a medium allows themselves to go into a higher state of consciousness in order to allow spirit communication.

Direct Voice - When a physical medium is able to uses ectoplasm to allow a spirit to talk in their earthly voice once more.

Physical Mediumship -When a medium has devoted themselves to developing ectoplasm so taht spirits can show themselves as they were when on this material earth plane.

Spirit World - Where we come from and where we go back to after this earthly life is over. It is our home for we are all spirit.

Ectoplasm - This is the material that exudes from a physical medium for the spirit entities to use.

I hope you find this useful.  If you are in any doubt about any of the terms I used, or other language heard in a church or at a sitting,  please contact me. I am always happy to help.

Lots of people believe in ghosts but what they actually think ghosts are differs from person to person.

There are many so called ‘Ghost Busting’ or ‘Haunting Nights’ being held across the country and even on the TV.  Ask the potential ghost buster just what he or she expects to see at the event and it differs greatly.

Some say that they fully expect to see a ghost as that is what they believe the event is for.  Others think that they will see things moving of their own accord, such as tables floating and smaller items floating in mid air.

Ask what they think ghosts are and this varies too. Lots seem to believe that every spirit who has left their material body, is able to haunt places and appear at will. Others think it is only the ‘troubled’ souls who stay around to haunt and scare people.

The simplest explanation to me is that a ghost is an image trapped in time. When people say they have seen the ‘white lady’ or the ‘small child crying’, the event is usually relayed in the same way, with the same description, by all those who say they witnessed it, every time. There is usually no variation in the event.

It came through the wall and floated over to the other wall before disappearing into it….

The room went cold and there was a bad feeling or bad smell in the air when the ghost appeared and did her usual thing, whilst carrying an object….

It appears at the side of the road sometimes at 2am and floats across as though the road was not there, doing the same thing each time….

My belief is that the reason the image is trapped in time, is because of a violent and unexpected passing, the shock of which somehow causes the effect to make an imprint upon this earthly plane. Spirits who pass over to the Spirit World in the usual manner do not seem to go in for haunting.

My experiences are usually of  the spirits of loved ones, who are wanting to let us know they are watching over us, and to give us reassurance at difficult times in our lives. They can communicate to us via a medium and bring messages of love, not scaring us or haunting our homes as this would achieve little.

I believe we can all learn to tune into the spirits of our loved ones, if we would just take the time and make the effort.

Psychic reading  isn’t easy by any means.  You have to develop your psychic gifts,  and to be a medium is a life long dedication to the development of it.

I have been developing my gifts now for over 30 years.  When I write about psychic gifts it may sound simple, but in practice it is far from simple.

I try to give you an overview of different types of readings, flowers, ribbons, sand, among others.  If you have been developing your psychic ability then these are something you may try.  But if you have not done any development then you have a while to go before you can be an accomplished reader.

Remember though, we all have to start somewhere and the sooner you start your development the sooner you will be able to give readings and help people.

I have had people come to my development groups who have expected to be able to give readings almost straight away.  They then lose interest when they realise they have to put a bit of work and dedication into it.  These are the ones who are not intended to use such gifts. It is not for them and it certainly is not for everyone.

If you have the urge and the time to be dedicated, then you should go for it.  Someone is trying to impress you to go ahead and develop.  That someone is your spirit guide or guardian angel.  They will help you if you are determined to help yourself.

And I am always here to help you should you need my advice or help. I am always contactable through this blog and my website.

Maybe feather reading is new to you but I have used it for a long time.  On one occasion when I was in Canada I was asked to do readings and I had no ribbons with me.  I had picked up a few feathers on our travels around BC and I decided maybe it would be a good way of reading psychically.

I went to a few local places to collect more, and along with the collection I already had, there were enough for me to work with.  I had a few practice sessions with kind friends and then I was ready.

Feathers are nice to work with as they are very tactile. They feel nice and silky and are different shapes too.  It just feels right working with them.  I use clairsentience for this purpose.  Clairsentience being the gift of clear sensing.

The readings went very well and the sitters were very surprised at my work with the feathers.  The contact and communication with spirit was excellent.  Proof of survival was had by all.

I use my feathers often now and enjoy the memory of Canada which comes along with them.

Is a medium always switched on?  Or, does a medium walk round all the time with spirits talking to them or showing themselves.  Do mediums see spirits all the time and is it just like looking at me and you?

Well, if a medium walked around all the time with spirit voices in their head,  picking up all the aches and pains a spirit can pass on to a medium,  they would soon be gaga!

A medium really has to learn very early on in their psychic development,  that they have to tune in and open up, and close down when they have finished their session.  It would be an impossible existence otherwise.  It would be like having crossed wires on a telephone exchange.  Mind boggling.

When a medium is tuned in they see spirits in their head usually.  In a subjective manner.  They  hear in a subjective manner too.  They cannot get mixed up between live humans and spirit people.

It is not quite like Ghost Whisperer where she is constantly interrupted by life like spirits wanting her help.  Although spirits do sometimes need help from a medium.  It is not quite so dramatic.

Mediums deal with the ethereal world and get their messages in an ethereal way.  That’s what the words beginning with clair… mean really.  Clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience.  Seeing, hearing and sensing or feeling and knowing.

We mediums can only help the living if make sure we set time aside for readings and shut down for the rest of the day.  That way we keep spirit happy, our sitters happy and ourselves sane.
