Mediumship and Beyond

There is a definite partnership betwixt medium and spirit guide.  They have to get to know each other inside and out in order to work together and become as one.

It is important that the right language is used by the guide so that the medium understands what it means when they are communicating together.  It might seem obvious to you, but there has to be a more unique understanding here, as time is precious for the communicator.

The guide only has a short time to relay the message, so there has to be a sort of shorthand going on.  This is where partnership comes in.  The guide has to know how the medium ticks and the medium has to teach the guide how to work with them.

This is a subject I get asked a lot about.  The partnership between the medium and the spirit guide.  How it works and  why they need each other.  It can be a complicated topic, but as ever I will try to explain it to you in simple, none spooky, terms.  There is far too much hokus pokus and spiritualist speak in the churches.

We all have a spirit guide, or guardian angel.  This spirit is with us from conception and accompanies us to the earthly life ahead of us.  They stay with us always and take us back home to the spirit world when our time on earth is over. This guide is often referred to, by mediums, as their ‘doorkeeper’.

When a medium begins to develop their spiritual gifts, be they clairvoyance, clairsentience, or clairaudince, the guide helps them and inspires them.  Most mediums see their guide at some stage. It may be clairvoyantly or in meditation.

In some cases, the medium is given information about their guide via other sitters in the development circle. It is up to them to prove all things that have been given.  I believe you need to be given guide information at least three times before you can be sure.  Especially when you are new to mediumship.

Then begins a wonderful partenrship, during which, the guide learns from the medium and the medium learns from the guide.

At times, during the mediums working life, other spirit guides and helpers will come and join the team, when they have a special gift to offer.  It may be a healing gift or something else that the medium needs extra encouragement with.

The answer to this question should be an unreserved no!   Personally, I never, ever, give anything to upset my client. It is not what having spirit communication is all about.

When you make an appointment with a medium to have a private reading, spirit will know.  They gather together those spirits who will help, uplift, and love you.  They do not waste their valuable time bringing a spirit who will make you more depressed.

The reading is all about proving life after death and bringing you joy and upliftment.

At no time should a medium tell you something bad or predict something bad.  That is not what mediums are about and any medium worth their salt knows this and behaves accordingly.

As for the proverbial question:does a medium predict death?  NO NO NO!  Nobody knows when we are going to die.  And if your reader even begins to suggest that they do, then you should get up and leave. It is definitely taboo! It is also impossible!

It is very wrong to make suggestions that will upset or depress a person. Also, such information may alter the way a person proceeds with their life.  We should not be responsible for that.

I am happy that my sitters go home uplifted and  knowing that there is life after death. They know their spirit loved ones are still watching over them and that they will all meet again in the spirit world.  This is how it should be.

This is really good advice. Don’t feed the psychic or medium.  But what does it really mean.  It may be obvious to some but what is feeding in the mediums world.

When you are having a reading, or receiving a mediums message, there are basic unwritten rules.  Firstly, the medium should not ask you questions.  They should stick to phrases like: do you understand or do you know. Can you place this or do you remember that.

The sitter though, has their own rules. The main one is, do not feed the medium or reader.  Feed means giving information to.  This means sticking to certain responses such as: Yes, No, or, I do not understand.

The sitter should never fill the medium in with  information, as this will get in the way of the communication.  The medium has to keep a clear channel for the spirits incoming communication, and another for the sitters responses.  If you feed the medium information too, it will get in the way and cloud the mediums mind.

Once the medium starts to think about what the sitter is saying, it just gets in the way and spoils the whole thing.  Save any filling in or information giving until your sitting is over. You, the medium and the spirits will all benefit.

A positive attitude is the best thing to have when going for your psychic reading.  That, and an open mind.  No expectations  in your mind, and love in your heart. 

It is no use going along filled with pessimism and lots of doom and gloom. Even if that is your norm, for this occasion it will not help either you or your medium.   A negative attitude from a sitter or querent (another name for a sitter)  gives you little chance with a reading.

The medium soon picks up the gloomy vibrations and it will affect them as well as yourself.  Because of this, it will be harder for the spirit enities to link and communicate with the medium.  The medium has to work in partnership with the guides and communicators and dull vibes affect this.

Go for your reading with love in your heart, a positive mind and a hope that you will connect.  During the sitting, send out your love to the medium and the spirit world.  It is far easier for them to work in unison when they have this positive aura.

Positive reaps positive and negative only spoils the whole event.

You may have been looking forward to a private sitting with a medium and wondered who may come through.  You may have a particular loved one who you are hoping to link up with.

Should you sit asking for this particular loved one to communicate and give you the answers you are seeking?

Sometimes, the spirit loved one you are hoping for cannot come through to you.  For whatever reaon.  You cannot assume that you will get the communicator you are wanting.

Like us here on earth, they are not always available.  There may also be other reasons they cannot get through.  All mediums are not all compatible with all spirits.  Sometimes it is for just that reason that they don’t come through.

We cannot be in tune with all spirits.  We are not all on the same wavelength.  Sometimes the spirit has to communicate through a third person and pass on information that way.

It is always important not to ask for a particular person to come through. Your longing and need may prevent other spirits from communicating.

Not all those who go back home to spirit, know how to communicate with us here, and have a learning phase to go through first, before they can communicate with a medium.

Above all, we cannot call up any particular spirit entity!  We can only ask the age old question, “Is there anybody there?”  The answer may well be, no.

Always go with an open mind and if your loved one doesn’t get through, enjoy the ones who do.  Any medium telling you that they can call up a particular spirit is not being truthful.

Clairsentience is a psychic gift.  It is the gift of sensing, feeling and emotion.  This gift is great for tuning in to the emotions of spirit loved ones, as they come through to communicate with us.

The medium can often tune in to the emotions felt by the spirit at the time of their transition.  The pain they were suffering at the time of death may also be sensed. I do mean sensed here, as the pain will only be a sense of the pain endured, not the actual pain.

Clairsentience comes into its own when the medium is reading FLOWERS.

Because flowers are such a personal taste and choice, the vibrations held on them give a great insight.  I can really be drawn into a flower when I am holding it whilst giving a private reading. It always amazes me what comes through in this way.

The sitter brings along a flower of their own choosing.  It is important never to let anyone else hold the flower. Not even a florist.  Only one set of vibrations should be on the flower and that is the sitters. For this reason you must pluck your own flower from its bed.

The type of flower is not important, it is the vibrations which are important.  But, the vibrations are created by the response of the flower picker as they collect it.  All the things they hold dear are felt more intensely as the flower is held.

Somehow the person’s emotions are transferred to the flower and in doing so the communication with spirit becomes clearer.  Do try it.  Take your flower along with you and see what happens.  Obviously you will need a flower reader for this purpose.

Hi. It is my birthday today, the 7th January.  I always feel in a very reflective mood on this occasion.  I like to look back over my life and think of all the positive events I have experienced. It is a gift to myself.

Going through such a process is very therapeutic and can help decide where you are going from here.  I have plans for the coming year but I still find this reflection helpful.

Life is full of surprises and I am sure this year will be no different.  I know the trials and tribulations are sent to help us progress but I am hoping for upliftment too.

Some people find it very daunting when they first have a reading. They are unsure how to behave and what to say.  They don’t know if they should tell the reader anything.

Some readers have been known to ask their sitter what it is they want to know.  The sitter should say “You tell me, you are the medium”.  But maybe if its your first time, you may not feel able to do this.

If you are receiving a message in a church for the first time, how should you handle it. Well, my advice is to remember these 3 responses.  Yes, No, and I do not understand.  There doesn’t need to be anything else from you except a smile, and of course, your love to the spirit world.

Is there going to be ‘anybody there’?  Remember, it is always an experiment and nothing can be guaranteed however good your reader is.  More on this subject tomorrow.

Never pay more than you can afford and always use your common sense.  Your instincts will help too.
