Tonight my friend and I are off to see a demonstration of mediumship. The medium has been recommended to us by other discerning spiritualists.
We are going with an open mind and love in our hearts for all those in the spirit world who may wish to contact us. It will be a great opportunity to watch others work and see how they do it.
I will post a review on Monday and let you know how it went, and if we witnessed proof of life after death proof.
It is not difficult to develop your psychic abilities. It needs dedication above all else. Development often begins before you are even aware of it.
Regular meditation and sitting in a small home circle is enough to begin with. You may even sit with others who have little or no obvious ability, until you need further help and tuition. There will be a stage in your development where you will need to seek the help of a teacher. Or at the very least, an experienced medium.
As I mentioned before, going to spiritualist churches helps you to gain the knowledge. Just going along and attending the services and paying attention to what is being said. You will learn a lot this way. You will find out about all the psychic and spiritual gifts that are developed by mediums.
Gaining knowledge on its own is not enough though. Meditation will help you get to know your spiritual guide, or guardian angel. You will need to be able to communicate with the guide, and learn to work together as a partnership.
Remember that development is a life time journey. It is not achieved over night and you will always want more. Try to remain humble. So many mediums soon develop over inflated egos. This is not a nice quality to have when working with spirit. Always remember that you cannot give spirit communication without the help of spirit. You cannot do it alone. There is no need for ego.

From time to time I run development classes. Development classes are also held at some Churches. My advice is to always check on the knowledge of the development circle leader. You need someone who can help you when you are in trouble or having problems.
Psychic art is practiced by some mediums, those who have developed the gift. They often use it alongside their mediumship and clairvoyance, but in some cases they work with a partner who may give clairvoyance whilst the artist draws.
The medium makes a link to a spirit, and then uses their clairvoyance and clairsentience, to capture the appearance. As the portrait appears, clairvoyance adds to the picture and good communication can take place. It can be very spiritually rewarding.
The medium who uses automatic writing will usually work alone and later show the prose, or sometimes music, which they have created. They have to tune into their spirit guide and let their hand and pencil be controlled by the guide without hinderence.
Psychic art seems to be a gift that is disappearing. There do not seem many mediums who are dedicated enough to develop such gifts.
Along with automatic writing, psychic art is a gift that was used a lot in the Victorian era. It can be a lonely development as often it is a gift best developed in solitude.
Those who practice automatic writing often do it late at night when they can be alone and undisturbed. Psychic art can be developed in a circle, but again, solitude often helps.
Once the gifts are developed enough to share, a small circle is perhaps the first place to demonstrate, before going fully public.
A very famous psychic artist was Coral Polge, a spiritualist medium who is now on the higher side of life. She drew wonderful portraits and there are several books about her work. I was fortunate enough to be able to see her work on many occasions.
There are a lot of people who are interested in the paranormal and would like to know more about psychic, mediums, and Spiritualists. They just don’t know how.
The best and easiest way to learn about the whole subject is to start going to Spiritualist Churches.It hardly costs anything, with most services being a freewill collection. There are occasional specials where a small fee is charged, to raise funds for the church. But overall the costs to you are insignificant.
The beauty of going to churches is that nobody will know you and therefore whatever meassage you are given can be taken at face value.
Look at the Internet for details of churches in your area or check on this blog and my websites to links that can help you. You will learn a lot.
If you have decided to consult a medium for a private reading, there are a few things you should remember. Obviously the first important thing is to only go to a medium who has been recommended to you.
Once your appointment is made you should go along with an open mind and send your love out to the spirit world before you go and when you get there, during the reading.
You may have in your mind who it is you want contact with, but don’t just have the one person in mind. There are many reasons why a particular spirit may not be able to communicate, and you can read about them in my earlier posts.
Keeping an open mind and sending out your love helps the communication. It is not all down to the medium. You have to give a bit too. Don’t give information though. Sending out love and positive vibrations helps the flow of the communication.
During the sitting answer the medium when she/he asks if you understand, or if you know what she means. Don’t chatter, just keep it short and sweet and it will not get in the way of the communication.
Remember not to say yes if the answer is really no. This may seem obvious, but some people think if they say no, they may get more. It does not work like that. Honesty is really important from you and from the medium.
Try to stay calm and relaxed, and then you will be able to think better when the medium asks if you recall certain events. You may not realise at first who the medium is describing or talking about. By remaining calm and relaxed things may suddenly click.
You will not be able to remember everything and jusut beacuse you cannot think right there and then, it does not mena it is wrong. Sometimes things come back to you later when you are sat quietly at home.
There will sometimes persons you cannot recall, but later when you are telling a family member about it, they may be able to fill in the blanks. On occasion it may be a long time before you realise what the message really meant.

What sitters and seekers must realise when having readings with mediums, is that communication between guide and medium is a very personal one. What a particular colour and symbol may mean to one guide medium partnership, will be totally different to another partnership.
The reason being is that they have worked and developed together, and know just how each others mind works. The guide knows exactly just how to put the meassage across to the medium.
If my guide needs me to know that someone is being childlike, they show me a daisy. It may be different for another medium. The important thing to remember here is what it means to the medium who is relaying the communication. It has been set up this way to get across the correct message for you.
Spirit know when you have a reading arranged, even before you do. They know how the medium works and set up things accordingly. Don’t make the mistake of placing your own meaning on things. Listen to the mediums explanation.
A rose may have a memory for you, but if the medium is alerted to the colour, then the mediums meaning for that particular colour is also a message. If you place your own, or another mediums, meaning on this, it will change the intended message.
The meanings given by your reader are the correct ones for that particular sitting.

My own view:
Well, I did voice my concerns before the event on this blog. You work with questionable people you get questionable material. And you cannot get more questionable than expecting this person to contact MJ! What is questionable is if he is really a psychic.
No one can truthfully say they can call up a particular spirit. They cannot! He is still trying to make a name for himself but he is missing the vital ingredient, INTEGRITY! Mediums have to prove all things. The onus is on them not their sitters.
Some think it is easy to give psychic messages and to communicate with spirits. It is not. I suppose it looks easy to the untrained eye. But, It takes hard work and dedication to develop the gifts and get used to the guides who help the communication.
Personally, I use meditation to get to know my guides and to familiarise myself with their way of working. I also use the opportunity to let my guides know which way my mind works and what I will understand.
Spirit communication has to be quick, and therefore, a sort of shorthand is developed in the guide medium partnership. This enables more information to be gleaned from the spirit world, during a sitting. More proof of life after death can then be given to the seeker.
The guide learns to work with the mediums mind. Whether educated or not, the guide and medium can still learn to work together. The guide has to make sure that what is being given to the medium, is within their mindset.
It is no use playing Bach or Mozart to someone who would not recognise it, or even begin to put it across properly. The knowledge has to be there.

As I have already said, there is a partnership between guide and medium and it is one that lasts for ever. But, it comes into something special when they work together to prove life after death.
When I first began using my clairvoyant gift, it was a bit like working in the dark. This was mainly because my guide often showed me things that I did not understand.
The guide would show me a particular image and expected or hoped I would know what it meant. A lot of the time I didn’t know. It was even more difficult for both of us, guide and medium, to understand each others thought patterns.
The only way it has worked is for us to communicate through meditation, to let each other know exactly what we mean and what we need from each other.
My guide used to play me a lot of music and I used to joke that he was a DJ. It was very useful as the music played was always something I knew, and therefore had no problems recognising. I loved interpreting a message via the means of music.
When I took an interest in colour, I let me guide know exactly what each colour meant to me. If green meant ‘new life’ then the guide would show me green when it was appropriate. I could therefore tell my sitter what the spirit was bringing by the colour.
When I began reading flowers this had a knock on effect too. If my guide showed me a particular flower during a demonstration, I would know exactly what to say.
If during a message, the guide showed my sitter being handed a flower, I would tell my sitter about the memory of that particular flower, but then I would also interpret the colour, as I would when reading ribbons.
This is only part of our partnership. It is a continual development process for me and my guides, to improve upon my clairvoyance.
When a medium first starts to develop their spiritual gifts and becomes aware of their spirit guide, they are at the beginning of a beautiful partnership which will out last this mortal life. This partnership carries on into the higher side of life from where it began long ago.
The medium may only just be starting to develop, but the guide will have begun to develop long ago. The guide will know lots about the medium, even though the medium knows little about the guide yet. They both have to learn to trust each other and to learn each others ways, so that communications becomes second nature.
What may seem simple to the guide, may be difficult for the medium and visa versa. Patience and dedication will bring both together.
The guide will show things to the medium in the hope he/she will recognise the meaning. If the medium fails to recognise it, then the guide will show it in another way until they find something they agree upon.
This is sometimes time consuming and lots of patience is needed. If the guide knows the medium has a love for a particular subject, such as music, then the guide may use this knowledge and use music to represent certain words and phrases.
For instance; the guide may play a bit of the music from Bridge over troubled water, so that the medium knows the words to the song are relevant to the sitter. The guide may show a green flower to denote what the medium associates with green flowers and so forth.
It is a complicated subject and needs more explanation. I will continue with this subject as the week progresses.
