There is only one aim of a mediums message.  It is to prove that there is life after death!

There are lots of psychics and card readers, crystal ball gazers and the like.  These hint at fortune telling and sometimes they do actually say that they can tell the future.

A medium worth their salt, would never mention fortune telling, or infer that they can tell your future.  They are not interested in whether or not you may be going to win the lottery, or find a rich boyfriend.

The only thing important to a medium when giving you a reading is that they can bring you really good information from your loved ones, in the spirit world.  This information should prove to you who it is coming from and that they know you and your life.

The loved ones may offer advice on your life’s problems and send healing if it is needed.  All the information should prove to you that they are still around, albeit in the spirit world.  They can still watch over and care for you. They can inspire you and make you feel safe.

All this information proves that they must be still in existence, even though their earthly body has died.  When you know for certain that this life is not your only life, it ought to prompt you to live your life in a way appropriate.

Life is not for living just for today it is for learning lessons that will last you an eternity!

Tarot: a set of special playing cards used for fortune telling – Oxford English Dictionery

Tarot is very intriguing. The general public see it as a means of fortune telling and mostly it is just that.  But do you trust a pack of cards to tell you how to live your life and sort out your problems?

There are many different readers of the cards and they have many different methods of reading them. I have yet to find two the same. Each reader will spend years perfecting their craft, although a simple spread can soon be mastered.

Each reader has their own preference for particular packs and styles. There are hundreds of different packs, from the very old fashioned to the very modern day versions.  If you decide to become a tarot reader you will soon find your own favourite. Most are very colourful and intricate. Though some are easier to read than others.

There are different spreads too, to help the reader find the right information for you, according to what kind of advice you may need. These range from a simple 3 card spread to very complicated ones which use most of the usual 78 cards.

There are two parts to each pack. The Major Arcana, of which there are 22, and the Minor Arcana which has 56. Both have their uses  and are often read together, but each Arcana can be used alone.  There are 4 suits to the minor arcana, 10 plus the court cards of each suit. The court cards are usually the King, Queen, Knight and Page.

Although some packs use slightly differing names for their court cards, they are really the same and have the same meanings and values.  Some cards in certain suits have French or other foreign names.

I find often in a reading the sitter will be able to put all the information given,  in context with their present circumstances. I also find that the information can be preemptedby the sitter, or indeed predetermined. You need to be aware of this whether a sitter or a reader.

Tarot can give you a nudge in the right direction or make you think over your problems more.  It may give you a whole new perspective. It can offer advice and suggestion but it CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT TO DO!  Or live your life for you.  And, would you really want that?

Choose your reader with care and ask friends for recommendations of readers. As always, my advice is never pay out more than you can easily afford and go with an open mind. Never try to live your life on the basis of a tarot reading.

Spiritual Healing is a wonderful thing and if you have the gift it is awesome!

Although there are now rules within the EC ,about who can and who cannot give hands on spiritual healing, it does not count if you give it absently.

It used to be that if you went to a spiritualist church, you could take part in the healing service and give hands on healing yourself, if the spirit inspired you.  Sadly, those days are long gone. The EC rules have put paid to that.

Now people have to sit tests and practice with others, to get a certificate.  This certificate gives them the right to practice healing, even if they have no healing gift!  Stupid, in my humble opinion.

I have had wonderful healing from those who have no certificate.  I have also had the hands of those with the certificates placed on me, with no healing result whatsoever, because they lack the gift..

When a healer is truly gifted, you can feel the energy from them and their hands.  Those not gifted in this way give off nothing at all and should leave it alone.

To send absent healing you just need to have empathy and the desire to help.  You send out your love and your healing thoughts.

A nice way to do this is to imagine the person who is in need.  Visualise them lying on a bed.  Picture a large blue cloud of healing energy and send it to the sick person.  Visualise the healing cloud enveloping the image of the person.  Concentrate your energy on them for a few minutes before saying a short prayer of thanks.

If you would like a friend or loved ones name put on my healing list, please email me.

You can now go and see public demonstrations of mediumship  and clairvoyance at many different types of venue.  Public halls, theatres, and even in pubs and clubs there seems to be posters advertising such events.

Quite a few of these events are held for charitable reasons, to raise money for worthy causes. Most spiritual mediums give their time free of charge at such events.  There is often more than one medium in attendance.

These such events are great places to go and see just what goes on, and see for yourself that there is nothing spooky or scary about mediums at all.  Well, I can speak for myself!

Where there is more than one medium, you may find that one of them has a good night, but the other doesn’t. They may well both be good, but sometimes material conditions are not always conducive to mediumship.  You may also prefer one mediums style to the others.  It is personal choice.

Always remember that such events are somewhat of an experiment, as it is impossible for mediums to summon up spirits at will.  They have to have the spirits who come through or none at all.

The time of the old style mediums, who used to name drop the famous dead celebs, and imply they could call up anyone, famous or otherwise, are hopefully in the past.

We must always be honest if we are to find the truth. Both mediums and public alike.

When psychics give readings, they often use a ‘tool’ to help them tune in to thier sitter.  Some may use a tool as a focal point to help their concentration.

There is an endless supply of items to use.  Psychometry is when a psychic reads the vibrations from an article belonging to their sitter, or their sitter’s loved one.  Any item can be used really as long as the size permits.  Only items made from pure silk cannot hold vibes.

Ribbons are another favoured tool.  In this case most psychic use the ribbons as psychometry.  Personally I read the colour of them instead.

Sand is another easily available item which is very easy to read either as psychometry or by looking into the sand for images.

Water can be put into a bowl and the medium gazes into it.  Another focal point really.  Images appear as though in the water but they are in fact seen in the mediums mind.

The crystal ball is used by mediums to gaze into and see images.  Again, the images are in the mediums mind and not inside the ball.

Flowers are a lovely tool to read.  Basically it is clairsentience which is used in this case.  The sitter chooses thier own flower, not the medium.

I am always interested to hear of any other regularly used tools for psychic reading.  Please feel free to email me.

Clairsentience is a gift which is often overlooked when discussing psychic subjects.

As you know there is clairvoyance, the gift of clear seeing, clairaudience, the gift of clear hearing, and clairsentience is the gift of sensing, smelling & feeling.

Clairsentience is often the first one which comes into play when developing mediumship and psychic ability.  It would seem that it is not used to its full potential though, as there is apparently a lack of these readers.

When giving a reading, smells and emotions are usually communicated from spirit, but a lot of mediums don’t seem to pick them up. They need to learn to develop this gift.

The sense of the pain when a loved one was passing over, is often relayed from spirit to help prove who they are.  They also try to make the medium feel the emotions they were going through and may still be if it was a very recent passing.

It takes skill, time, and above all patience, to learn how to get this communication over correctly.  It also has to be treated with kid gloves, as it is so easy to hurt a sitter by being clumsy with the communications.

The medium has to let their own feelings flow whilst allowing the other feeling to be sensed.  Not easy but well worth the extra effort.

Readings can be given with clairsentience alone, but used in conjunction with clairvoyance and clairaudience, it becomes much more of a soul to soul affair.

It may be worth finding out which gifts a medium has before going for a sitting.  Even so, believe it or not, some mediums don’t know which gifts they have!  There is a lot of ignorance out there. This is what my blog is for.

To educate, both sitters and readers alike.

Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, both starred in this fabulous film.  I know its not a new film by any means, but it does deserve a mention in the list of films about the ‘paranormal’.

In fact it deserves more than a mention, since I believe it to be the best, in the genre, to date.  None other has come even near to matching it for its accuracy and sympathetic treatment of the subject.

The scenes about seeing the spirits were really very good.  I have so much experience like that personally.  It is incredible how they have, at last, given credence to the subject.

It left you wondering to the very end about the status of Bruce Willis’ character.  Most people say they did not guess at all about the outcome.  Some, like me, realised when the ring rolled to the ground.  When did you realise?

I hope they treat the new Matt Damon, Clint Eastwood film with as much respect and sympathy.  I am looking forward to it!

Clint Eastwood’s newest project is the Peter Morgan-scripted Hereafter, which is to star Matt Damon. It is described as a thriller in the vein of The Sixth Sense.

It is a drama about three people trying to figure out what, if anything, exists after death.

Damon’s character is the supernatural figure in the script: GEORGE, a “handsome, shy, soft-spoken” factory worker with a psychic gift which allows him to see dead people. We won’t see his dead communicators though and George will be doing his hardest not to see them himself.

Meanwhile, across the world, two different plot lines will play out that are touched by tragedy.

Gorgeous French journalist MARIE recovers from a near-death experience in the 2004 tsunami and is full of questions about what she saw before being revived.

Whilst in London, 12-year-old boy, MARCUS, loses his twin brother. He shuts down emotionally whilst searching for a way to contact his lost brother in the afterlife.

What follows is that three lonely people, who are cut off from the ones they love, search for answers about what lies beyond this earthly life.

Sounds good. I look forward to seeing it when it comes out. And I hope they make it look real as in The Sixth Sense.
