The length of time taken to develop the sixth sense varies from person to person.  The sixth sense is the psychic part of it,  and when that part is developing mediumship can then follow.

I know of people who take years to develop and I also know those who have developed very quickly.  Suffice it to say that safe and slowly is the best way to develop.

We are all psychic as I have said many times on this blog.  We are not all mediums though.  It can be a fairly quick process to become aware of your psychic gifts but you then need to take your time developing mediumship.

There are those who try to run before they can walk and consequently burn themselves out.  They find after a while that their gift seems to have gone.

Those who develop slowly seem to have a better control of their gifts and therefore use them tactfully and properly.  There is a lot of responsibility on mediums to use their gift thoughtfully, tactfully and caringly.  This includes the way in which they put across their message.

Dedication is very important.  You need to sit for development on a regular basis.  This should be at least once a week in regular as clockwork.  If you can sit more ofter and more regularly then all the better.  Mediums of old used to sit for spirit 6 and 7 times a week.  That is why they developed physical mediumship and direct voice.

Today there is sadly, not enough dedication and not enough physical mediumship either.  It is a shame as the best proof can come through physical mediums.

If you know of any gifted physical mediums, please email me about them.  I know lots of my readers would love to heart about them.

You can contact a medium as soon as you like, but you may not be prepared for it immediately after the passing of a loved one.  You may need to give yourself time.  Be gentle with yourself!

It varies from person to person, the amount of time needed for grieving.  It is not everyone who can sit for a reading whilst they are still upset.  Some need a while.  You will know when you are ready.

The ‘dead’ person’s spirit will go home to the spirit world,  but will be able to communicate with the material plane when they are ready.  The time needed for them to prepare depends on just how evolved they were before their material life.

Some spirits are much more aware than others and will know how to communicate easily, but others may need a little help at first.

Sometimes a third ‘person’ assists them with the communication until they are ready to do it for themselves.  We know that not all spirits are as evolved as others, or as knowledgeable, from earlier communications.

It is known for another spirit entity to bring through a newly crossed over spirit with them.  They help to pass on the message to the medium’s sitter. You will know then that your loved one is safely over to the higher side of life.

This is strictly my belief and cannot be taken as fact. Others may have a different opinion.

A grieving parent asked me the above question about babies and here I will do my best to answer.

To understand what happens to miscarried babies, you have to have an understanding about the spirit world and our eternal connection with it.  It will also answer the questions about young children passing over too.

We all come from the spirit world.  It is our eternal home.  We are all spirit through and through.  Our aim as a spirit, is to evolve spiritually, and sometimes that means coming to live on the material plane to learn lessons not available to us in the spirit world.

It is us who choose to come here.  We have the will to do so.  We understand what it is we need to learn and that we may need a material life to learn it.  This is not about aliens or other world beings at all!  We are not ETs!  We are who we are, and that is humans, with an everlasting spirit.

We make the choice to come here and the setting and family into which we need to be born, so that our lessons can be learned.

Whilst here we not only learn the lessons ourselves, but also help in the lessons of our earth family and friends.  In fact all of those who we ever come into contact with.  We help each other in our spiritual task.  Even though we are unaware of it.

It may be that you need to learn how to be humble.  You may have already had a life where you suffered from being rich!!!  You may have been a monarch or other wealthy person.  You learned about that and now you need to learn the lessons of depravity and maybe starvation.  The Queen never has to learn to be humble (in this life).

You may lose a child at or before birth and wonder why this poor baby had to suffer so, and why you had to lose it and suffer the loss.  The child will have chosen it’s short span and you will have needed to learn something from it too.  However harsh it may seem now.  This may be a lesson that is hard to come to terms with, as mere mortals, but back in the spirit world you see the sense of it all.

It is not for us to remember our spiritual home whilst we are here on earth.  If we did it would all get in the way of our lessons and therefore our evolvement.  We have no memory of it whilst we are here, but at our passing it will all come back to us.

Our loved ones, including our babies will be there waiting to greet us and it will have all been worthwhile.  We will see each spirit in the same way we saw them here, in order for us to recognise them and feel safe with them.

It is quite wrong to say that a baby is now grown and big, long after its passing.  They do not continue to grow their earthly body after passing.  They cannot, as their body was left here, and is no longer a necessity.  The spirit grows and evolves though.  Still having the body though in the spirit world is a ridiculous assumption.

It worries some parents that if their child grows up in the spirit world then they will not recognise them when they meet again.  Why add to this fear by saying such nonsense?  The body cannot grow after death; only the spirit can!

Yes, you feel the loss.  Yes, it is traumatic.  Yes, it is natural to mourn the losses.  We are humans and feel the pain of death and bereavement. It is a hard time for us all. A time when we feel we will never get over our loss. The happiness comes back to us in our eternal home – the spirit world!  That is our gift.

I attended the service at Worksop Spiritualist church yesterday for the divine service.  There was a good sized congregation there too.

As usual the service was run efficiently and warmly.  They always make everyone feel welcome at Worksop church, and on an evening that was very humid they provided a large fan for the comfort of all.

The speaker was an old student of mine, Danny Lewis.  He was his usual warm and jovial self.  It was good to see how he had progressed in the years since he sat in my development circle.  Back then he was bemused with it all and shocked when he started to get communication from the spirit world.

Unlike last week’s speaker, Danny provided proof to back up his messages.  Not for him to just give a lady or a man.  He made sure he placed the messages with the right people and continued to back up his message with further detail.  This left the recipient of the message in no doubt about the spirit loved one who was communicating.

Danny gave numerous messages from spirits and worked hard to get the message across throughout. I was proud to know him and to say he started off his development in my circle.

As for Worksop church, it continues to be a great place to find out more about spiritualism and give you a warm and friendly welcome.  It has its own website and a good healing service too.  Try it if you live in the area and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

I will be going along to Worksop church again this Sunday.  Again it will be the divine service, but also the speaker, medium Danny Lewis, is an old student of mine and it will be good to see how he has developed.

I remember when he first came to my development group, not knowing anything.  How well and how quickly he came on too.  He was soon giving psychic messages which rapidly developed into mediumistic messages from the spirit world.

I will review the service and Danny for my Monday morning post.

Sunday I went along with a friend to Worksop church in Nottinghamshire.  We went to enjoy the Sunday Divine service and there was a medium taking the service.

I will not give the medium’s name as she was less than good, and maybe on another occasion she will be more than good.

The service was lovely, as is Worksop church.  There is always a sense of peace, calm and love.  The meetings are always very well run and there is no messing around as there is at some.  There is always a sense of decorum and that could teach other church committees a thing or two.

Church is where you show reverence to God and to Spirit, as well as to each other.  Respect for spirit is often taken far too lightly in my humble opinion.  I would say Worksop church is a model example.

Sunday’s speaker was another matter.  It seemed as though her prayer and very short talk were memorised and recited without pause.  There seemed to be no thought although the words were ok.  It just fell off the tongue rather too glibly.

The speaker said she worked very quickly and that was an understatement.  She started her clairvoyance with speed and again it seemed fat too practised.  Most speaker usually go to 6 or 7 members of the congregation during a service but she must have gone to about a dozen.

Quality is always better than quantity when trying to prove life after death.  Six good messages are always better than a dozen poor ones.

All but one of the ‘speed reading’ recipients were given a baby in spirit.  All but one were given a young man in spirit.  And all but one were told, ‘There is a lady with you in the spirit world’!

There was no proof about the lady (x 11), as to what she looked like or any clue as to who she was.  There was no information about the young man (x11).  The only stipulation that was made about the baby was that some were told it may have been a miscarriage, and other told it could be a termination.

The medium did slow a little bit towards the end of the service, and her mediumship was then slightly better.  It all sounded far too rehearsed and off pat for my liking.  She did not prove spirit to me at all.

Maybe she is unaware that a mediums job on the church platform is to prove life after death.

Well, this is a difficult one!  And I would suggest here that it varies very much according to how much knowledge the spirit had when it came here from the spirit world in the first place.

Some spirits or souls are far more evolved than others, regardless of their material life.  It may well be that a person may seem to be well developed psychically and more so than, say their partner.  But, in their spiritual home it might have been the other way around.

We have no memory of our spiritual life whilst on the material plane, as it would prevent us from getting on with our purpose.  Therefore it is hard to tell how evolved each of us is.

If a spirit is well evolved, it may be an almost instant event for them to go home after they pass.  They may see their loved ones waiting to greet them and accompany them over to the other side, making their transition relatively easy.

For a less evolved spirit it may take a bit longer, but they will still have loved ones waiting to greet them and go with them to the light.

Sometimes whilst on their ‘deathbed’, a person may talk to an ‘invisible’  being and appear to be watching someone, usually at the end of their bed or at least in the room.  They will mention loved ones names and surprise the relatives who are at the bedside.

It is often thought that it is drugs which cause a dying person to act in this manner, but it is really their ‘dead’ loved ones come to take them back home.  They can really see them even if you cannot.

Most of us find it rather comforting that their loved one will not take their ‘final’journey alone.

Most of my posts come about in response to my readers questions and queries.  This one is no exception.  I often get this question asked what happens certainly does vary from medium to medium, but I think there is a definite thread running across them.

I will use a private reading as my example, giving myself up as the medium.  The best way is always to use my own experience.  Read previous pots on my blog for actual reading examples though, for further insight.

When you get to the medium you determine to give yourself and your love to the sprits who may be awaiting you.  Stay as open minded as possible, this is not to say be gullible!

Give your first name if you wish but do not offer up any further information as it will get in the way of any reading and ultimately be no proof to yourself.

The medium will tune in to her/his higher consciousness and hopefully tune in to the spirit loved ones you are wanting communication with.  Don’t expect anyone in particular and then you will not be disappointed.

The medium will pass on the communication to you and should keep to what the spirits are saying or showing so as not to distort the message.

You ought just to answer yes, no, or I don’t know what you are talking about.  This way their will be no feeding the medium.  Feeding does not help either of you and certainly not the spirit who is communicating.

You want to look for proof that it is a particular loved one who is watching over you. This may entail something about them self, to prove who they really are.  Something about what is going on around you and with your everyday life. This is to prove they are watching over you and know what is going on .

Also, you may be given something you cannot place there and then.  This could be a specific thing which you may find out about when asking relatives.   This may also be something specific that is about to happen in your life and will prove to you that this particular spirit is still around you.

All in all it should give you a little story which all makes sense.  The reading should prove life after death to you as that is what mediumship is about. If it does not then maybe you have the wrong reader. Good hunting!!

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but it is possible to be open psychically open without meaning to be.

This of course can cause many problems for you.  If you are walking around open then you could be ‘picking up’ vibrations from everyone and everything.

For instance, you might be with someone who is very troubled and you may eventually feel very down as a result.  This is because you have picked up their anxiety, psychically.

You may be sat on a bus or train and start to feel unwell and in pain.  You may well be picking up the vibrations from a sick person who is sat nearby.

Don’t be alarmed by this, but do something about it instead.  There is a simple way to close down and protect your psychic centres from the vibes of other people.

You might like to read my earlier post on the subject of Chakras and learning to open up and close down.  It would be good for you to learn the proper way to develop and protect your self at the same time.

Meanwhile here is the quick and easy way to close down your reseptors when the need dictates.

Sit quietly, alone if possible, and close your eyes.  Visualise in front of you a large white , symbolic of spirit, sack and slowly step into it.  Pull up the sack until it is covering your entire body.  Tie up the top and put a padlock on it.

You are now closed down and will not pick up vibrations until you open again. If you practice the opening and closing procedure you should not need to do this exercise again.  If you need further advice please email me.
