Encounters with surgery, the supernatural and the Healing Power of Hope.
This is a book written by Allan J Hamilton, MD., FACS.
A Harvard-educated neurosurgeon reveals how his line of work has exposed him to inexplicable phenomena in the apparent form of angels, ghosts, and patients who have had near-death experiences, in a series of case stories that shares the author’s insight into the role of superstition, premonition, and faith in health outcomes. I recommend it to all those seeking proof of survival of the he spirit after material death. It is an excellent and easy book to read and very well written.
It is my belief that we are all Spirit and all come from the Spirit World. From the first moment of our earthly conception, we are joined by a ‘guide’, or you may prefer to think of it as a guardian angel. This ‘guide’ stays with us throughout our earthly existence and helps guide us through the cycles of learning which we have chosen to undertake. The angel is often referred to as a ‘guide’.
In life you will realise that the lessons we have to learn will keep coming around again and again. If we do not deal with a particular problem in the correct way, to solve it instead of muddle through it, then it will return again in some other form. The cycle does not break until you have learned the lesson properly and can prevent the same thing happening again. Our angel will try to inspire us to do the right thing. If we choose to ignore the inspiration of the guide, it is at our own folly. A typical example of this would be: you get into a financial mess by taking a quick route, maybe by robbing Peter to pay Paul. Sooner or later, things catch up with you again and this time it is worse still. You borrow money to throw at the problem and it is just a waste as things get progressively worse.
Finally, the angel inspiration gets through to you and makes you realise your habits must change. You take a long hard look at your budget and see that you have far too many out-goings that do not correlate to the in-comings. You get a financial adviser to sort out your mess and explain to you the best way to go forward.
The cycle is then broken at last. The lesson learned. Your life is in better order and you can concentrate on other lessons.
The spirit guide stays with you throughout your life span and gives you inspiration when it is needed. When the time comes to go back home to the spirit world your angel will take you there. You are never completely alone. In the spirit world your loved ones, who have gone ahead of you, will be there to meet and greet you and make you feel safe and secure. You will be safe within your spirit family group once more.

You have probably heard of cold reading and this sadly is what some so called psychics/mediums really do.Unfortunately, there are lots of fakes out there. As in all areas of life there are those who do not have the gift, but pretend to in order to show off, or even worse, to cheat you out of your money. There are many whomake money from the misery of others. These are not spiritual people, and this is why you need to be careful about who you go to see for your reading.
Cold reading is one way some people work. Guesswork is not far behind it. Also, gossip can be used and embroidered upon to make up a supposed message, by some ignorant beings; those who should know better too. A true medium would never stoop to such levels, and it is here that the need to prove life after death is important. A cold reader cannot tell you anything that could prove life after death, or anything about loved ones in the spirit world. A true medium is needed to contact the spirit world and get real proof for you.
A cold reader is someone who studies your body language and facial expressions whilst they are speaking to you. They look at things like wedding bands or the lack of, and for signs that you may have stopped wearing a ring. They observe you to see if you are nervous when certain subjects are mentioned, and play on the subjects where you are more responsive. They will also most certainly ask you probing questions and do what I called ‘fishing’.
Unfortunately, even in a Spiritualist church there can be cold readers, fakes, and the downright self-deluded, although church committees on the whole try hard to deter these people.
The moral is, only go to someone who has been recommended to you. That way you will know they are genuine, but you should still not offer any personal information in any event before the sitting/reading. We will explore the concept of sittings and readings in more depth later.
There have been requests for more of my workshops and ever popular mediumship courses. Due to this I am in the process of arranging a new course.
If you are interested in attending a 10 week course, which will consist of one evening per week for 10 weeks, please email me your details asap, as it is on a first come first served basis.
The course will be suitable for novices and anyone wanting to further their psychic studies. I look forward to hearing from you.
If you decide to go and see a medium for a private reading, it is always best to ask around and see if any friends or relatives can recommend someone they have been to see. Word of mouth is usually how a medium’s reputation is measured. If someone has had a really good sitting with genuine proof of life after death, they will be pleased to pass on a name and number to you. Equally, if they have been to see a medium who left a lot to be desired, they may perhaps want to warn you against seeing them and wasting money.
Firstly, a good reading from a medium should contain information about a loved one of yours in the spirit world. This information should be enough for you to recognise who it is communicating to you, by stating personal details such as their name, illness with which they passed over or suffered from, and places and memories that are collectively unique to you and them and your relationship with them. You may not receive all of these, but there should be enough data for you to recognise who the loved one is.
Secondly, after the loved one has proved to you who they are, they should be able to pass on information to you, via the medium, about current events concerning yourself and any concerns you have in your current life. The spirit may give advice about how to handle a particular difficulty you are experiencing, or about another loved one who may be unwell and in need of healing. Loved ones like to carry on helping us from the spirit world just as they did when they were here on Earth.
Sometimes, if you are lucky, the communicator may tell you something that you are not yet aware of, and it will only become clear what they mean when you have asked questions of those within your family or friends. This is proof that there is no mind reading taking place, as it needs the input of an absent third party to fill in the gaps of the message. I like it when this happens.
More hints and tips about this subject will follow. In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact me.
Feathers
Feathers are interesting items to give readings from. The sitter can pick their own feathers by collecting ones they find, or by buying a set for themselves from a craft or toy store.
Alternatively, the reader can have a set, coloured ones are nice, and can give them to the sitter to hold, thus leaving their imprint on them.
Flowers:We must not forget flowers here, as I know they are a great source of pleasure for people and reading them seems quite a natural event.
Again, vibrations can be instilled into the flowers by the person who picked them from the ground. The alternative way to read a flower is to study it and see what you can glean from its shape, size, buds and leaves.
Psychometry
The most basic of psychic readings can be obtained through reading objects. This is known as psychometry. The idea is to hold onto an object and pick up the vibrations emanating from it. The information can then be worded into a message for the owner of the object, who can be either absent or present.
Sand: Sand too can be used to give a reading. This involves having a tray of sand into which your sitter gently presses their hands, leaving behind their imprint. There are different ways in which you can use this method to read and I will be discussing them later.
Stones: Stones too have a vibration which can be read. It can be a mixture of the vibrations from the stone itself or from the person who has been holding it. Just holding onto stones for a short time will leave quite a lot of information for a reader to glean.
