The goose is getting fat etc etc…..

There are lots of rhymes, ditties, songs and carols as well as hymns which relate to this time of year. Not only these but also lots of stories both religious and otherwise which shed light on the meaning of Christmas and this time of year.

It is a time of caring. Of soul searching, and a time for looking at the meaning of life and at our whole existence.

Events of great importance in our lives seem to have even more importance when they happen at this time of year.

We may be some of the lucky, fortunate people. There are many who are not, and it is to these people, who may be the sick, the suffering and the needy that I ask you to spare a thought for. Send them messages and thoughts of love and good intentions and for everyone you give out I know you will get many back.

Try it for yourself and let me know the results. Take care and enjoy the time of year for yourself.

Advent – From Wikipedia

As this is the start of Advent I felt a full explaination is needed before we move on to the rest of this festive month and things relevent to Christmas.  I have chosen Wikipedia for my quotes this time.

Advent (from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming”) is a season of the Christian church, the period of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus; in other words, the period immediately before Christmas. It is the beginning of the Western Christian year and commences on Advent Sunday. The Eastern churches begin the liturgical year on 1 September.[1] The Eastern Christian equivalent of Advent is called the Nativity Fast but it differs both in length and observances.

The progression of the season may be marked with an Advent calendar, a practice introduced by German Lutherans. At least in the Roman Catholic calendar, Advent starts on the fourth Sunday before December 25; in other words, the Sunday between November 27 and December 3 inclusive.

Latin adventus is the translation of the Greek word parousia, commonly used in reference to the Second Coming. Christians believe that the season of Advent serves a dual reminder of the original waiting that was done by the Hebrews for the birth of their Messiah as well as the waiting that Christians today endure as they await the second coming of Christ

All comments welcome as usual, from believers and non-believers alike.

My son Neil, lives in Canada, and he is usually very well and contented with his lifestile.  His health has improved a lot whilst he has lived over there. He is generally much fitter.

At this moment in time he is suffering with the Flu and in need of lots of TLC. He tells me that if he is not well today he is going to see a doctor for some medication.

May I ask you to send him some healing please and any kind thoughts which you think may help him. He is so good at helping others that I feel he deserves some kindness right back.

Thoughts are living things so if you send him positive thoughts, they will help him to recover.  Thank you so much. Please keep believing.
