Reiki (ray-key)

There are lots of interesting alternative therapies available now, throughout the world. I prefer to refer to them as additional therapies, as I believe we still need our doctors and surgeons, as well as all the other medics who assist us with our well being. Nothing, in my humble opinion, can replace the conventional treatments our health service offers, but there are many therapies that can assist our recovery from illness and our well being as a whole.

Reiki means universal life force. The treatment is hands on, and is meant to assist the body to heal itself. During a treatment the Reiki energy flows through the body helping to rebalance and attune it.  It is a holistic therapy which treats the whole; this includes mind and body, emotions, and general well being.

Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of spiritual healing. And anyone can use it. In fact, anyone can learn to do it. The method is simple and easy to learn - the student receives attunements from other practitioners and Reiki Masters and is able to pass on attunements to other students. The theory being that the more attunements a student receives from other practitioners and masters, the better they will become at giving Reiki treatments. As usual, I advise looking to governing bodies to find a good practitioner as the system is not perfect, and you can lose a lot of money needlessly.

Ask around for recommendations of good therapists. Again, my advice is don’t pay out more than you can afford.
